She soon learns that the grass is not greener on the other side, and no one is really who they say they are.

This definitely was not what I was expecting. i was expecting the lead to fall for her side piece-not his bedroom skills. She fell in love with an opportunity to use some to remove a thorn in her side. The title implies she fell in love with her side piece….
The story was riddled with inconsistencies whether it be timeline, statements the characters made about themselves or in a reference to a situation. How can a character be in the hospital and at a hotel for you to bump into them at the same time. Are you a tough, educated, calculating criminal attorney or are you a low budget, neck swiveling “hood rat”? Are you the king of the streets or are you naïve as newcomer to the game that can’t spot a setup? The timeline was pretty fluid as well as the personality of the characters. The mentality of the leads in this book was very sophomoric in such a way that you immediately could not take the description of “high powered criminal lawyer and street king” seriously. These things couple with the grammatical errors and lack of structure made for a difficult read. I’m sure the author is talented. I think I will try one of her other works. This story didn’t “gel”.

Drama from start to finish!

I get bored easily with books that give titles as if its gonna be full of drama, but gives nothing or very little. This book was everything! Very well written and narration was awesome!

Narration is Trash.

This probably had the potential to be a good book however I couldn’t get past the poor narrations. From the awkward inflections and the misplaced pauses, to the overly aggressive reading manner throughout the entire story, I just couldn’t get into it. I couldn’t tell if it was a man and a woman narrating or if the woman was doing a poor impression of a man but it was terrible. And the random punching sound effects out of nowhere took me completely out!!! Lol it was out of place, comical, and very unbelievable. Although I suffered through this bad narration until the end (since I actually paid for it and wanted to give it a fighting chance), I think that’s when I just completely checked out.

surprising

I like that there was a twist, but how did we get there? the story wasn't bad, and it wasn't great either, too many unanswered questions, but not enough for a sequel... So, why be so vague?

It was alright

I don’t think the title went with the story. The attorney was kinda dumb to be someone who was so good at her job. The drug dealer that was supposed to run shit was kind of naive. But it was interesting.

Relentlessly Exciting

I'd like to see this as a movie. I really enjoyed seeing the progression of a good person, doing bad things, become a bad person doing the right things to keep her from being caught for justifiable bad acts.

It is one chess move after the next, making the story a page-turner.

Great job!
