This book was sweet

This book was sweet however to me it was perhaps a bit TOOOO sweet.
As a child, Diana had been in puppy love with Andy Friessen. That was, until the night he assisted in running her and her family out of town.
That night, she lost everything. Her home, her mother and the sister she had protected all her life till that point. She wasn't overly concerned by her mother's absence but she still holds the Friessens responsible for what happened.
Now she is back in town on the search for retribution through legal pathways and Andy is toying with her, evidently knowing how he affects her full well.
She ends up staying with Jed Friessen, Andy's cousin.
This story is the definition of a whirlwind romance in my view.
She was in town less than a week when she was breaking up fights between the two cousins; unless the story did not account for time the way I thought, and undying love was being confessed.
I'm all for love occurring spontaneously but the pacing in this story simply seemed rushed to me.
It was enjoyable despite all that.

Another great addition to the Friessen stories

I have to confess I have become an “addict” of Ms. Eckhart’s stories and this one was no exception.
The story belongs to Jeb and Diana. Jeb is a hardworking rancher, and one of Andy Friessen’s cousins. Diana is the daughter of a woman who was a hooker and one of the many mistresses of Andy’s father. As a child, Dianan grew up in a dysfunctional family, caring for her younger sister with disabilities. When things go wrong Diana and her sister were abandoned . An experience that has affected her throughout her life.
Now a lawyer, Diana’s back to right the wrong, never expecting to meet Jeb Friessen. A man that would change her life forever.
This was another thoughtful and well written story that will keep your attention from beginning to end.
The narrator in the audio version was very good , bringing the story to life.
Can’t to see what else is in store for Jeb and Diana

Fallen Hero

Diana has a mission, to get justice for what happened to her as a youth. The Friessen family is powerful, but not everyone is against her...

A great story by Lorhainne Eckhart that follows the Friessen family.

An entertaining narration by Melissa Moran.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Emotional!!

A heartbreaking and emotional story of loss, Justice, healing, and love. Diana was run out of the town of North Lakewood as a child, blamed for the sins of her mother. Jed walks away from his family’s fortune in order to make a life for himself on his own. Jed and Diana form a friendship and relationship in the midst of pain and trouble. A beautiful story of second chances and love.

I'm loving this series!

I'm moving right along, nearly binge listening to this series and loving it.

Like the first book, The Forgotten Child, I really enjoyed this story but did keep in mind that it was written several years ago and I lot of things have changed in the world of romance writing. Women are now stronger and men aren't always such macho jerks, in spite of some of that it was a wonderful, romantic story.

Since I've subscribed to the Audible Romance Package I'm now trying to catch up with this series and listen to the early stories in order. It's been fun finding out how the couples got together, who are the parents of the main characters in later books in the saga.

Diana wants revenge for all of the wrongs done to her by Todd Friessen and his son Andy. She's come back to North Lakewood as a licensed attorney ready to dig up whatever dirt she can find to hold against them.

Jed Friessen wasn't expecting this beautiful woman to be the new tenant for his rustic cottage and he certainly didn't expect to end up falling for her.

Sometimes the men in this story are a bit over-the-top alpha but I like to read stories like this every now and then. They take me away from everyday stuff and just let me escape into a fantasy; even if it's not necessarily one I'd want to live out.

There's a bonus short story at the end of Fallen Hero where Jed and Diana make peace with Andy and I really enjoyed it.

I'm pretty picky about narrators and some of the ones for other books in this series weren't always great in my opinion. I thought Melissa Moran did a good job and got the inflections for the words right nearly all of the time. She did a good job of distinguishing between characters and didn't make her voice go up and down when it shouldn't like a lot of narrators do. I would definitely listen to more books that she narrates.
