Publisher's summary

Brielle Atwater isn't sure of much, but she knows a few things:

  1. Having black wings is not normal.
  2. Selling her soul to the demons was a mistake.
  3. Lincoln Grey is the biggest asshole she's ever met...but not falling in love with him might prove impossible.

When angels fell from the sky to war with the demons that ravaged Earth, their combined powers infected humanity. Now, the humans are assigned one of two fates, being either demon-gifted or angel-blessed.

After wings sprout from Brielle's back at her awakening ceremony, she's sure she's an angel-blessed celestial. It's not until she sees black wings that she realizes something is terribly wrong.

Having sold her contract at a young age to save her father's life means she should be bound for Tainted Academy. That is, until a fallen angel unexpectedly fights for her to be accepted into Fallen Academy, the elite school for those who inhabit Angel City.

She's immediately matched with her impossibly handsome celestial teacher, Lincoln Grey. Laying eyes on him, her first thought is that her time at the academy might actually be fun, but this theory quickly fades when she and Lincoln clash on day one. To further prove her admission into Fallen Academy is cursed, the entire school is thrown into chaos when an Abrus demon reveals that he knows Brielle's secret. Now, above all else, Lincoln must fight to protect her.

To his surprise, the only thing more difficult than trying to save her...is trying not to fall for her.

overall great read/listen

story was fantastic with a lot of interesting characters with just enough cliche to make it an easy read and enough originality to make you actually want to know what happens next. my only real negative feedback is that, while the narrator was great with the voice of the main character, the voice she used to portray the Male characters was a bit immature and didnt fit. I definitely intend to continue listening to series.

decent YA.

I am an avid listener to all things fantasy. Especially if it's paranormal romance or YA. I'm here to say that this is a fun listen for anyone between 15-20 years of age. It has 2 likeable main characters and I liked the world building. I equate it to the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. If you're looking for way more XXX and amazing writing then anything by Dannika Dark is the way to go. Again good listen and I do not regret the credit I used to purchase it.

Good with a few issues

the story was decently paced, and filled with interesting characters and excitment. There was an issue with name calling of Lincoln being called Logan at one point, and there should be a male and female voice for this. other then that, the book was good.

4 stars

Good Book. Only 4 stars because I felt like a few areas where "space fillers", just dragged out. Then some pieces, like family check ins, where left out.

Names names names

The story is great and I love it but the narrator uses the wrong name is places.... at one point she calls Lincoln Logan and then she calls Luke Lincoln so you have to really pay attention so you know who is actually being referenced or is talking

Pronunciation please!!!

I generally like Vanessa Moyen’s narrations, but she needs to learn how to pronounce some words. It drives me nuts every time she says “arch angel” or “arch demon””. So much so that I’m not sure I can finish listening to the book. It is pronounced “ark” not “arch”. She has issues with words in other audiobooks too, but that’s another review.
