Thanks to its unique combination of human and vampire residents, Morganville, Texas, is a small college town with big-time problems. When student Claire Danvers gets the chance to experience life on the outside, she takes it. But Morganville isn't the only town with vampire trouble. Claire never thought she'd leave Morganville, but when she gets accepted into the graduate program at MIT, she can't pass up the opportunity. Saying good-bye to her friends is bittersweet, especially since things are still raw and unsettled between Claire and her boyfriend, Shane.

Her new life at MIT is scary and exciting, but Morganville is never really far from Claire's mind. Enrolled in a special advanced study program with Professor Irene Anderson, a former Morganville native, Claire is able to work on her machine, which is designed to cancel the mental abilities of vampires.

But when she begins testing her machine on live subjects, things quickly spiral out of control, and Claire starts to wonder whether leaving Morganville was the last mistake she'll ever make.

So, the last 2 books were read by Angela Dawe & my reviews of those books were not glowing. Angela completely butchered the narration of the past 2 books, so much so that I was not going to buy another book read by her. Well I guess I just like Rachel Caine and her Morganville series to stop at book 13.
So, my review:
Narrator - I was not expecting anything really from this book, just another botched narraton from Mrs. Dawe, but it seems she read the reviews and took the advice of her listeners and did her homework on how Cynthia Holloway read the characters. Angela actually did a pretty decent job reading this book. Myrnin no longer sounds like a pixie on helium and she gave Eve a voice worthy of her and her attitude. It was still not perfect and it was kinda slow at times but all and all it was tons better than earlier books.
The Story - I truly enjoyed this story a lot more than I thought, it was set outside of Morganville and we meet new characters. There are a lot of fun twists, turns and surprises here and it was truly refreshing. We get some resolution on the Claire/Shane situation which is nice as well. Over all I really enjoyed this book. I didn't have to cringe because of the narrator and the story was well written and enjoyable. I will definitely buy the next book even if A. Dawe is the narrator, I just hope she does the next book the same justice as this one.
My opinion - worth a credit if you are a true Morganville fan.

Overall this book was great. However I don’t like the fact that I don’t know anything about the damn dog that bit Shane. I’m sure it’s for a good purpose but still :)

What did you love best about Fall of Night?

In Fall of Night I really like that we get to see Claire outside Morganville. She gets a chance to experience life in the "real" world and discovers it is not what she imagined.

What did you like best about this story?

I am a huge fan of Myrnin, and I really like him in this story.

How could the performance have been better?

I really wish that there was not a change in narrator. I have listened to most of the Morganville books via audio except the prior two and that is when the narrator changed. I do not like the change especially when she does Eve's voice; it is awful.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

This was a very emotional book. Claire has to make a lot of rough decisions and at time you find yourself questioning the choices that she makes.

I couldn’t put this down until I finished. I really like this series. The only problem (and it’s a significant one) is the loose sexual practices by the unmarried teens in this series. Well, actually the language is a little problematic, but there’s not a lot of it.

In this book, Claire gets to go to MIT. She’s so excited! However, she finds herself working with one of Mernin’s former assistants. Then things turn bad.

Edge of my seat
