Fake Christmas review

I have to say, I jumped on the chance to listen to one of Lexy's books because I love them. I had an opportunity to try for free to give an honest review. That was over 3 weeks ago and it has taken me this long to finish. The story is decent enough and I like the premise but the female MC really tanked the experience for me. Now it could be I'm basing my judgement off the narrator because her rendition of the MC was cartoonish and unrealistic sounding. I really tried to enjoy the story but I gave up after the ridiculousness of her not telling her husband the big secret that I'm quite sure all the listeners figured out once she announced she was keeping something from him. Oh and her not wanting to spend the holiday with her husband but with her family instead was crazy. Any woman in her right mind would love what her husband did for her...he couldn't help the weather and he was trying to make the best of it...deep sigh. He really really had love for that ninny and was willing to forgive her for her foolishness...what a great guy. The story wasn't bad but it wasn't all that good either.

As usual Amazing writing

This book was phenomenal just like all the other Lexi Timms books. The only issue that I had with this is the audible narration. The character of Allyson was made to sound like Goldilocks and the three bears and was very meek and that is not at all how I visualize her so it took a bit away from the story. The story is wonderful and I could not put it down, I finished the entire thing in one day. I look forward to more books in the series.

Lifetime movie?

I enjoyed the book as i do any Lexy Timms books. Unfortunately, this plot was very similar—if not the same—as a Lifetime Christmas movie and/or book that I’ve already read. With that being said, i wasn’t able to enjoy the book fully as i knew what was going to happen fairly quick.

Sweet story

Fake Christmas by Lexy Timms is book five in the Fake Billionaire series. This was a sweet story about Dane and Allyson. They’re trying to get home for Christmas and the weather has other ideas. Meanwhile, she has a secret. He thinks she’s seeing someone else. The build up to the secret was fun. But, when the secret comes out….it was a letdown for me. I expected something more. Five times should be enough.

This story was narrated by Julie John. She does an admirable job with the emotions and the characters. The only issue I had was that the ‘voice’ she used for Allyson sounded more like a spoiled, whiny child than a married adult. This made getting through this story a bit tough. Otherwise, the performance was very good!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

Fake Christmas

What a secret! I haven’t listened to the previous books, so there are a couple of spots that I was a bit lost (and making me want to get the others) but the book was so fun to listen to it didn’t matter. When the secret finally came out I was relieved that even though it’s a doozy, it’s one that is easy to get past and learn to communicate better.

Good Christmas Book!

I enjoyed this story of Allyson and Dane. Allyson's lack of communication causes a lot of their problems. It was nice to see how they detoured their Christmas trip and spent time together to work on their relationship. Narration was good. This was an enjoyable short story.

Terrible Narration

Made Allyson sound like a 6 year old.

If this would have been the first book I listened too it would have been the last.
