A psychic read!

Can she protect her family and friends and save her own life in the process, or will she have to trade her life for theirs?

I'm not going to lie - I'm a bit disappointed in this read because all clues where right there - it was just so plain obvious and I hated that it could so long to figure out. I'm disappointed in the heroine, I just can't.

Other than that, it was a good ending to this series.

Full of secrets, trust, friends, family, psychics, abilities and romance.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.

Good narration. Suitable for this character and book.

I don't know...

I struggled with this book after being addicted to books 2 & 3. There was definitely a darker, heavier element to this book and while it suits the character growth and timeline it just didn't fit me so much. It took me a few days to get through this one actually and it leaves me unsure if I'd want to keep listening to the series. But I would love to read or listen to a book written by this author that targets and older audience because I think she could write something awesome that's a bit more mature.

Good Ending To The Series

I liked the overall plot of the book and how it came full circle from where the series started. That was a nice touch the author added. I also enjoyed the narrator--she had the voices and the emotional range for the characters down pat! The only thing that frustrated me really was how Crystal, mc, still thought she had to do things on her own instead of confiding in the people she reused trusted. People that could've helped her to figure things out a lot faster. It bothered me that after all she'd been through with them, and how far she'd come into her abilities with their help that she didn't seem to have the same confidence in her support system as they seemed to in her. Other than that, I liked book.

Very emotional ending

This book was a really good ending to this series. There were a few times I wanted to yell at someone but over all it was so good. Crystal had a lot to contend with in this book I don’t want to say much so as not to spoil anything but it was good. Crystal has to rely on herself a lot even when things go wrong. This one was rather emotional and explained a lot about a few things that happened before. Crystal has amazing friends and people who love her. She continues to help people as much as she can in this book.

I love this series and I wish it didn't end.

What did you love best about Fading Frost ?

Honestly, this book was my favourite in the series. Crystal has grown so much over the course of these books, and she is a relatable character, that always tries to help people around her, putting herself last. Plus, the narrator gives an absolutely amazing performance that brings all the characters to life. Shes amazing at voicing children, men, the adults, everyone. I don't like reading books on my own, and it's hard for me to get through with narrators that I do not like. That is why I loved the book.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the ending, I won't spoil it. But it's good and I really hope the author writes more in the series. Honestly, I'd love to see Crystal in college. This series reminds me of one of my favorite books as a teenager which was "Blue is for Nightmares" - only better.

Which scene was your favorite?

But there are so many great scenes throughout the book! I can't pick. I absolutely loved any time the narrator was having a conversation with multiple characters, and mostly scenes between the protagonist and her mom, or her boyfriend. I cannot stand narrators that sound bitchy or old, and so this was perfect for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending moved me to tears. I really felt touched. And it left me wanting more. I was so glad Crystal got some closure with ...well I can't say!

Any additional comments?

The narrator is AMAZING. The book is AMAZING. The series is AMAZING. DO MORE BOOKS! Write more! Write about Crystal in college! Goooooooooooooooooooo!!!

just f**king die already!!

for God sake this is going on and on and on. God damn my habit of not letting go a book and finishing a series. I wanted to crush my phone 200 times already just to stop this. it's agonising. why would you create this weak pathetic stupid character? give powers to someone capable of something. anything. to make it a bit more enjoyable. moaning and crying non stop. she seen her dead father's ghost and it's all about her. of course she wouldn't tell her mother who was the freaking wife. nah why would she care?? why would she want to know?! let's just skip that and keep it a secret. what the actual f?? can she be more self centred and selfish? and afterwards she jumps her bf bones and he's a 18 years old teenager who doesn't want to f**k with a condom cause he lived underneath a rock and he's sure she'll get pregnant so he's a virgin missing a leg.. just no comment....😑😑😑😑 I wish the rating would be on minus

Satisfying conclusion

“I need to warn you. It won’t be long before you have to make a choice. You are going to have to save three of the people you love most. Soon you’ll have to die to save the ones you’ll love.”

Following an accident, Crystal suffers a head trauma which befuddles her psychic abilities. Sensing the presence of a ghost but unable to help them cross over, Crystal and Emma attempt a seance with disastrous consequences. Now an angry spirit is targeting her family and friends. When her father sends her an ominous warning from beyond the grave, Crystal finds herself facing an agonising choice.

Fading Frost is the fourth and final instalment of the Crystal Frost series. It’s easy to become emotionally invested in characters over the course of any series and this was no exception. I genuinely welled up at the end when Crystal comes face to face with all the spirits she’s helped since she became aware of her abilities. Eva, her imaginary childhood friend was a nice touch on the authors part.

Throughout the course of the series. I’ve learned to appreciate the way the author has sensitively dealt with many of the social issues faced by some of the characters helped by Crystal. Due to the target audience, the author avoided graphic detail and treated each of the themes with gravitas. There’s been an underlying message of love, hope, courage and the value of friendship.

Crystal is a protagonist who many young readers will identify with and hopefully aspire to. This book is ideal for young fans of paranormal abilities, ghosts, psychics and mysteries.

I received a advanced free audible copy of Fading Frost which was read by the excellent Kim Reiko and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
