It was a shock for us all when Russia invaded Ukraine. The daily unfolding events remind us that we each live every day of our lives on the very cutting edge of History. Wars have always defined the critical moments in human history. And the latest military weaponry has always defined the nature of those wars. This is an interesting time in history in which many powerful nations are not only developing very advanced weapons but are also eager to sell these weapons to other nations. Therefore not only are the weapons of today complex, but so is the politics involved in using them. Recently we have seen a resurgence in global tensions around the world. Some of these have already erupted into war, while others are simmering in the background. Many of these have the potential to escalate into larger global conflicts. As we have already seen in Ukraine, modern weapon systems have transformed how these conflicts are being fought and how future wars will be waged. This book examines the recently emerging military technologies that will dominate the battlefields of tomorrow.

An okay surface-level brief on most mil. tech, but chapter on AI is misguided to cringe level

An okay broad but superficial brief on modern military tech accross all domains.
Rather misguided or badly out of date on AI's role in military tech for a Dec 2025 book. I cannot confirm or deny it's accuracy on the other stuff, one can only hope it's more accurate. Several times I fast-forwarded thru the AI voice drone on and on thu pages of numbers from a chart comparing specific weapon's specs. The disclaimer about published Russian and Chinese weapons' specs being unverified, unreliable and probably exaggerated - became old after the 3rd repetition. The same can be said by them about western tech.
