I wish this was a complete novel. The storyline was ripe for further development. Please?

The author’s inability to grasp what a surrogate is. 

This is called adoption. It was poorly written and quite ridiculous. I laughed extremely hard at the 1 dimensional woman Mel was. Just a hole that how the woman are written.
