Ezra: 7 is the second in the post-apocalyptic stories written by Dawn O Watson.
A generation ago when the nerve agent N65 decimated the planet, the survivors were the elderly, the simple, and the psychotic. When Barbara Hanson began gathering those individuals that remained, she had no idea she would become a legend.
Fast-forward a generation; Summer and Amon Hanson, Barbara's children, live in a world quite different from the one their mother envisioned. Strict rules for dress, behavior, and work make life difficult. States are divided into zones and ruled by a director and a code enforcer. There are public floggings--and worse--for those that will not obey.
When Summer and Amon attempt to discover the dark secrets of the past, they are looked upon with suspicion. But tall tales and gossip have destroyed their mother's credibility, and it's up to them to make it right. But will they be banished for their curiosity?
