this is the second book in the series. its just a good as the first. I'm really glad I found this series. I already have the next two. can't wait. wonderful story and narrator did great

Amazing

She is faced with her worst nightmares - literally. More powerful than ever, she finds herself powerless and terrified as she has to fight the growing confusion of her latest challenge while trying to figure out who to trust. I really love this series!

couldn't put it down

The story is much darker and more action - filled but also more enrapturing than the first in this series. The mysteries, betrayal and hopes are fluidly woven and evolving. I could not put it down and am getting book 3 right away. I found the writing to be a bit repetitive at times and didn't like how weak Jocelyn was ok in several parts but I liked watching her grow and unravel more of her life, friends and purpose. The audio narration was well done and the different character voices that helped portray the scenes. A great fantastical YA read but be warned it can be grotesque and dark and has a killer cliffhanger!

She is Very Powerful

So I'm enjoying this series so far, this book takes place just after the first and a lot of shady stuff has gone down. The book has action, love and magic. It also has a MC who is one of the last of her kind and the most powerful anyone has ever seen. (And the other characters have lived long enough to know.) At least she isn't able to rapidly pickup how her magic works.

I want to keep listening to these books, I really do. But they are listed at nearly $20 a book. I asked the author about the pricing because these types of books are almost never this expensive. Apparently the author does not own the audiobooks so she doesn't control the pricing. Unfortunately I'm not willing to pay $100 to finish the series so for now the rest of the books are in my wishlist.
