Gothic brilliance!!

I loved this book the first time I read it!! Now, I love it even more with listening to these characters popping from the pages with the striking voice of Stephen Smith. Knightley's words and Smith's voice create a rhythmic pulse of perfect prose. The story lured me in while reading it, but now listening to the story, it grabbed me, creating a feeling of being an invisible character right in Dahl House. Smith's voice for Edgar's character solidified the voice I always have in my head while reading Edgar A. Poe's works. I highly recommend listening to this masterpiece of Gothic brilliance!!

Super Combination

Holly Knightley gave us an excellent spooky read, and Stephen Smith made it a wonderful audible experience. Smith, at first, sounded uncomfortable imitating a female voice. But he soon seemed to relax into the character and he came across as much more natural. I enjoyed Eye of Athena in both printed word and recorded voice. I hope you do as well

BRAVO!
Author Holly Knightley has created a whole new universe for Edgar Allan Poe fans! Not only is the esteemed writer a central figure in the story, Knightley hid countless "Edgar Eggs" into the plot. I created a drinking game in its honor - every time I discovered an EAP literary reference, I'd take another sip of amontillado. I was drunk by Chapter 2!
And Stephen Smith's performance is flawless. I had the honor of seeing him live at The Hollywood Fringe Festival - also performing works by the tormented genius - and his work here served Knightley's words perfectly.
While this is a gripping horror story with supernatural themes, the real surprise is that it's actually a whodunnit with twist after twist. Knightley will keep you guessing and your head spinning until the very end!
