Publisher's summary

Extinction Crisis is the third and final book in the series!

With the doomsday ship only days away from impacting the Earth, humanity's demise seems all but assured. In every corner of the world, news of the impending destruction has led to chaos, looting, and the collapse of the rule of law.

As the foundations of civilization crumble around them, Jack and Mia must race to find answers to perhaps the most important questions of all time. Why have the Ateans repeatedly eradicated life on our planet? And could the key to ending the cycle of extinctions be locked somewhere within the Salzburg Chromosome?

Unraveling the mystery will mean journeying deep into the heart of a perilous alien world and facing off against the very beings who created us.

The science is sooooo inaccurate its frustrating

There is one line where something is shown in only in 1 video frame out of many so it's "traveling faster than the speed of light"... really?

The book is riddled with many impossible such descriptions.

Overall, I enjoyed. But these small misses are really annoying...

Tree books in three days

I really loved this series, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
The story is built on a foundation of real science, which is something that I really enjoy, and expanded onwards. Looking at the things we've discovered so far and imagining where we, the humanity, will go in the future is inspiring.
Combination of distopian and utopian possibilities is on point.
I really hope for this series to go on.

Complicated storyline because of dialect changes

Audible doesn't work well for this book(series), because there are two to three scenarios with 4-6 characters taking place at the same time in different places. The problem lies in the fact that they each have a lot to say, each with strong distinctive accents, and the narrator occasionally has some difficulty in making smooth transitions. Generally, he does an excellent job, and he is really quite good with German, Aussie, and Russian speech patterns & dialects. He really was a busy guy!!
This book brings an unbelievable amount of scientific research used for the entire series to a believable close. I felt like I had been part of a fantastic team's journey, making world history, and saving millions of lives in a busy mornings' work.

Crappy Deus ex Machina Ending!

It is horrible and a very poor ending to the series. I I hate it when sci-fi stories just end up with stupid cop-outs like "multiple Universes", some unknown creator who created the creators and there is no other explanation than that... and deus ex machina characters... especially enigmatic super-advanced alien characters that just sort of "explain everything" while at the same time "explain nothing", and save the lot of humanity as some sort of kind or generous gesture, cuz humans are just so special!
Pllleeasssse!
I returned this book 80% of way thru. What a cheap cop out! Stupid end to a fun and interesting adventure with a lot of building tension.
The narrator is certainly good, but his regular voice along with every character being shades of more or less nasal-ness and squeak, gets really grating on the ears when the story turns out to have such a ridiculously crappy ending!

Don't start writing a book if you have no idea how to end it and have to rely on cheap tricks and devices!

Just when I thought the series couldn't get any

Better! A must read for those of us who seek the truth, love scientific thinking and have an open mind

FELT LIKE A CHORE TO FINISH

I was tempted to stop listening with 7 hours to go but had invested so much time in the series I wanted to finish. I struggled to get through it. As good as the science was, scientific explanation kind of bogged down the plot at times.

Very thought provoking.

A lot of the science details went way over my head! But the story was written so that even the most basic of us can skim the tough stuff and still enjoy the book. Makes me wish I had paid more attention to science when I was young and could wrap my brain around the details.

Really cool concept that falls a little short.

The concepts are solid enough for fiction and it has some cool ideas but some of the main story elements fall short. There are a few loose ends left out and some explanations of character choices that simply don't make any sense. As a trilogy it was good and the ending as a whole was enjoyable but the story elements throughout cause a mark down.

Thought Provoking

I very much enjoy the fact versus fiction section at the end. Extremely thought provoking story and concepts.
