Gritty, dangerous, passionate and action packed...

Loved this book. The plot twists and turns were thrilling. I hope the rest of the series gets released on Audible, as the narrators added even more drama to an already great story. Highly recommend this series.

Blood, sex and more blood

All the action the first book lacks is here with avenge...
(Not so sweet) Swan shows everything she is capable of doing to defense herself and the ones she loves. She seems to be more like a SEAL than a helpless girl.
The search for salvation after their mother put Sarah and Swan through hell is devastatingly bloody, full of surprises and you almost give up expecting a HEA when, at the end of the book, the traitor is not revealed - big deception. So, the drama is not over and the narrator says book 3 is how Sarah met Beach so, no sign of the villain getting caught...
In this book you get a bit of everything: love, cruelty, drama, action, a bit of BDSM and more...

What does Andy E. Ross and Stephanie Wyles bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Narrators made this listening experience so freaking amazing. Cant say enough positive about their preformance in this audiobook.

Love this series

I just love the characters, the interactions they are put through just make them solid. I also love the performers in the audible version.

Good story with annoying heroine

This book is actually the conclusion of the first book in this series. I really liked the overall story. However, the female lead character was unbelievably annoying. She is most immature 20 year old I have ever been exposed to; in print or life. The author tries to explain this away as a type of high functioning autism but, It doesn't come across as that, at all. It comes across as insecurity and immaturity. I have had lots of exposure to autism, in my family and my work and her behavior does not strike me as stemming from autism. However, I don't know everything and maybe there are those who act this way due to autism. The trouble for me is that her behavior irritated me and detracted from the story. It wasn't her sensory issues or her deep need for affection, that made sense to me due to the relationship between the character and her father. It was the fact that this young woman supposedly had been trained better then a special op soldier, since she was a child and this experience hadn't matured her, at all;Not buying it. I was also annoyed that, once this character had a taste of sex, she was like a drug addict needing a fix, even though people were dying around her and her twin sister was missing. Don't get me wrong, I love good sex and participate as often as possible, but I hope, in this situation, my priorities would be better. oh well, if hot sex scenes are your thing, you will love these two books. Just be prepared to ignore some annoying character flaws.

WOW! Just... WOW!!!!

Ann Mayburn is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite writers. She is ingenuous, spontaneous, clever, and witty. This book is so powerful that I'm left rather speechless. I just don't know where she comes up with some of these things. I can't wait to read the other books, yet truly sad that Miguel's and Swan's story is over. This book was wrought with pain, heartache, suspense, and murder.... but followed up with love and loyalty.

Just wanted to give this my full endorsement! Now please, PLEASE come out with the rest and put them on audible!!! its been like 4 years! ps the dual narration is phenomenal too!

Enjoyed

I felt some of the sex scenes in this book were pretty lengthy and kind of got in the way of the story, but still a good read.

I can't wait for book #3!
