Publisher's Summary

When our expectations are met and things go according to plan, we feel a sense of accomplishment and pride. Risking little, we feel safe, in control, and on-track. But when life throws us a curveball or does not live up to our expectations, we end up with an Expectation Hangover. This particular brand of discomfort is profoundly sobering and uncomfortable.

Christine Hassler urges us to not wallow in regret, self-recrimination, or anger, and instead see these hangovers as catalyst for profound transformation. Often life has to throw us a curveball (or several) so that we look in a different direction. When we fully treat our Expectation Hangover on the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual level, we learn courage, faith, surrender, and love, and we make room for the kind of unexpected things that lead us more directly to a life we love - rather than a life we planned.

Not that interesting

The narrator has an annoying voice and the content wasn’t that life changing. There is too much reputation of the words “expectation hangover”.

Good Tools

There a lot of good tools in the books. I'm going to get a hard copy as well. The only thing I did not like is the name of the book expectation hangover.

Lots of tools for stopping expectations

Enjoyed the first half of the book but as it progressed it had too many exercises and not enough practical information that I related to. The ideas in the book are nothing new: try to figure out what upset you and let go of expectations and focus on yourself. I would recommend this book to someone that is just starting the self development journey.

Helped me and my daughter so much! Love it!

Love her views, sensible options and metaphors. The exercises are brilliant. Allows people to literally, emotionally and mentally take a step back and look at their reactions.

So annoying

I hope I never hear someone say "expectation hangover" ever again. I barely got through 20 min before I wanted to drive off a cliff.

Great butt kicker

What other book might you compare Expectation Hangover to and why?

I would compare it to Mastering Your Mean Girl, they both have similar writing formats.

Perfect book for anyone going through a rough time in their life, or experiencing serious disappointments. Hassler helps you to realize that you can get through it, you are not alone, and that a change in perspective of a situation can make all the difference. Highly recommended!
