Publisher's Summary

Normal? Who's normal?

Not you, that's for sure! No one you've ever met, either. None of us are normal according to God's definition, and the closer we get to each other, the plainer that is.

Yet for all our quirks, sins, and jagged edges, we need each other. Community is more than just a word; it is one of our most fundamental requirements. So how do flawed, abnormal people such as ourselves master the forces that can drive us apart and come together in the life-changing relationships God designed us for?

In Everybody's Normal Till You Get to Know Them, teacher and best-selling author John Ortberg zooms in on the things that make community tick. You'll get a thought-provoking look at God's heart, at others, and at yourself. Even better, you'll gain wisdom and tools for drawing closer to others in powerful, impactful ways. With humor, insight, and a gift for storytelling, Ortberg shows how community pays tremendous dividends in happiness, health, support, and growth. It's where all of us weird, unwieldy people encounter God's love in tangible ways and discover the transforming power of being loved, accepted, and valued just the way we are.

Disappointed

I had heard good things. Unfortunately, I did not read them. Sure, there are a few nuggets but not enough to be worth the time to listen.

Can always count on John Ortberg, to explain how Jesus Christ fits so easily into our lives,in a straight forward way...

It explains just how were all a work in progress, and John will give you the steps to get yourself, & help others achieve community, on earth, as it is in heaven..

Great book

John really puts this one together right. I listed to it twice in a month's time and after ordering from Audible for about four years, that's a first. I also purchased the book. John has a unique talent at putting catchy humor in just the right places to get an important message about life across. e.g. Sarah was the first Mom to go to the checkout with both Pampers and Depends... and they also ate the same strained vegetables. ... A great listen.

Really Good Listen

Studied the book with my house group and it is truly a challenging book. Some days we laughed, other days we cried, some days we were angry because we knew we were being challenged personally. John Ortberg walks the reader/listener through numerous lessons and issues when it comes to relationships in a manner that encourages positive change.
In my opinion, this is an easy read and a good read. The narrator does a great job making it listen to having an audio book helped me stay up to speed.
