One outrageous plan after another

This was yet another set of wonderful quirky characters. I love that there was just a little link to Gotham.

Christina Dodd rocks!

This book has it all: evil protagonists, strong female characters, clowns, a retired circus elephant, a handsome male lead, Madam Rune from her previous series set in Gothic (that woo-woo place) who rescues Rowan after Rowan's homemade hot air balloon deposits her in the ocean and of course, romance. I originally read the ebook, but rushed through it all in one sleepness evening so I bought the audio version to pick up the nuances of this adventure. It's quirky, funny in parts and I found myself holding my breath as Rowan faced each new terrifying situation. Thank you, Christina Dodd, for this latest page-turning, late night sleep depriving story. Kudos!

Laugh and cry

I don’t know where to start! This book is on the one hand full of totally ridiculous, coincidences, contrived plot lines,snarky people, pretty good sex (hot!), funny dogs, beautiful scenery, everything that Christina does to make her books fun and interesting. I was going to have another hand, but I think that just sums it up. I love this book.

Good Suspense & Characters

I enjoyed the story, the suspense, the characters and the romance. The performance was well done. I’ve been a fan of Christina Dodd since she wrote her historical romances. Some of her contemporary suspense stories I didn’t enjoy as much. But I enjoyed this book as much as I did her historical books.

Mystery, wit, and adventure, hoorah

Disliked too much sex. Disappointed that the mysterious argument, visit, and murder if the old man from the beginning was not explained. Who socializes and entertains their murderer?

suspended your expectations

The reader was great, she did awesome with what she had. The writing sounded like a 9th grader trying to use filler to get to 1000 words on their history paper. Character development was flawed and sexist. The only reason I finished was book club.
