Beloved blockbuster storyteller Anna Quindlen’s powerhouse new novel, her first since the #1 bestseller Rise and Shine , confirms her status as an incomparably accurate and compassionate observer of families and the tragedies they face.

This moving, suspenseful, and surprising new novel by beloved author Anna Quindlen is about a suburban family and the unintended, explosive consequences of what seem like small, casual actions. Quindlen returns to the subject of family, and family in turmoil, a subject she’s explored with great success in all of her previous novels thanks to her insightful, compassionate understanding of the intricacies of human relationships.

Well into years of marraige, I think I'm rarely bored by the routine and the sameness of it all. I find deep joy in the fact that I know my spounse's "moves" and he knows mine, that our days consist of a lot of child-centric activity, that the lawn gets mowed on Sunday, that we often fall into bed too exhausted to do much more than murmur a good-night.

It is these very things--the sameness, the absence of say, the kind of sponstaneous and thrilling sex you had in your early 20s, that many of my friends complain about.

And when I hear their frustration, I think, "Yes, but if you lost it all, every boring bit of it, I bet you would do anything to get it back."

Mary Beth Latham, the loving wife and mother in Anna Quindlen's brilliant new novel, gets the chance to experience that when an act of violence destroys everything she knows.

Qundlen draws us, with perfect language, into Mary Beth's internal diologue as she struggles to deal with the choices she made that resulted in devastating loss.

It is so beautifully narrated by Hope Davis, so exquisitely peopled with thoroughly developed characters...God, I just hated this book to end.

I loved every last word of "Every Last One."

Sad to see--or hear--it end

Loved the book and the narration was VERY GOOD! Any woman that has raised children will relate to Mary Beth. The second half of the book is pretty sad, but it makes you appreciate your kids for all of their faults as well as their perfections!

Well Written

The story was riveting and familar turf for all that have experienced the "joy" of adolescence with their own children. While not all the issues are this extreme, there are identifiable threads throughout. And the exploration of personal responsibility, guilt, and forgiveness are very compelling. Great listen.

I can't say I disliked anything about this book. The narration was perfect. Hope Davis kept my interest throughout the book. Although I have never dealt with he type of grief Anna Quindlen describes, I was moved to tears so many times as I felt the pain of he characters. I particularly liked the manner in which the author developed each character; even the dog.

You can't read this without being moved.

So forgettable I have no clue what this book is. Even though it is in my library. The bummer thing about audible books is you can't resell the crappy ones on amazon.

Utterly forgettable
