What a surprise!

This is not a traditional romance. It’s a mix of a second chance love, Indiana Jones and Angels and Demons. It is not the type of book that you can understand without paying attention to details. This author is really talented and wrote this in an unique way. The best way that I can describe the plot, is that it is like a string of Christmas lights that has become tangled since there last use. At first, the listener has no idea where to start to untangle all the facts that they are being presented. Slowly, step by step, the plot starts unraveling, bit by bit. However, all the knots aren’t unraveled until the bitter end. This book takes some patience. You can’t get irritated and frustrated because you can understand everything that is happening, right from the beginning. In addition, you’re not going to be able to figure out who the antagonist is, until the bitter end. Trust me, stick it out, it is definitely worth it, in the end.

The Hero is definitely an Alpha male that takes on the responsibility of protecting everyone he loves, no matter the cost; even if he has to hurt the person to assure their safety. Even though he knows he has done horrible things to ensure his loved ones safety, he still loathes the man he’s been forced to become.

The Heroine starts out being so hurt and resentful, she refuses to even try to read between the lines and figure out the whys, behind her ex-husband’s actions. The Heroine’s character experiences a lot of growth, both emotionally and logically, by the end of the book and surprises everyone with her forward thinking, by the end of the book.

As I wrote before, be prepared to be patient and to pay close attention to the details, as they unfold. I love the unique writing style, that the author used in this book. She did a brilliant job and I’m looking forward to enjoying the rest of this series.

Hmmmm? Well...

I'm on the fence with this book. The plot kept me interested until the 4th hour. I chose to continue to get answers. Halfway through it picked up and still I kept going. By the 12th hour I washed the dishes, did some laundry, cleaned my garage and by hour 16 I looked for my next book. The end.
