Story
Neecy Lawrence, winged warrior for a Viking goddess and second-in-command of the fierce Crows, doesn't know what to do with a nice guy. As it is, making up for a past she'd sooner forget leaves her barely polite most days. But Raven leader and loyal Odin warrior, Will Yager, isn't just nice. He's gorgeous, hot, and a distraction she simply can't afford. Yager has wanted Neecy in his life - and in his bed - for a long time. Not just for a night, but forever. And, like any self-respecting Viking, he'll stop at nothing to get her.

A girl gets real tired of being overprotected by her own shifter family, and there's nothing like an oh-so-big bad wolf to start a pack feud, unleash her instincts - and have her surrender however and whenever she wants....

As with all anthologies some are better than other
Overall this is a good collection of four books put together in the anthology. The authors did a decent job with building the stories and the characters enough to allow the reader/listener to envision the worldscape and plot line that the various authors had intended. I believe based on the narrator that there were no huge glaring issues with regard to spelling or grammar, but since I didn't read the book myself I cannot attest to this. that being said I did enjoy the narrator. I think she did an excellent job bringing the various characters voices to life and distinguish each character accordingly. I would listen to other books that she narrated. I will admit I am biased in that I probably enjoyed the novelette by GA Aiken the best since it gave some backstory to the dragon kin series. I enjoy her books and find her characters to be intensely amusing and easily envisioned to be real life, character flawed, all around enjoyable to listen to and root for as they meander true life. Let's be honest, you could envision dragon boys shoving each other at the window and laughing or daring each other to break through the wall with their heads just to prove it can be done. So, enjoy the four books in this series perhaps you will find a new author you hadn't heard before and will enjoy.

Two out of three ain’t bad
The first two stories were absolutely incredible! The narrator did a fabulous job. She brought the characters to life and pulled you right into the books.
They could’ve skipped the third story altogether. The narrator did a decent job with it, but I could have done without the stereotyping of the speech of the one single minority in the whole book (I am assuming that the narrator read it the way that the author wrote it, and an editor should have told the author that it was absolutely inappropriate and pretty much sucked), and I didn’t care for the wishy washy heroine or the lack of depth of both the main characters. So the third book was less than “meh”.
So, two out of three ain’t bad.

Nope
I decided to give this audiobook (3 short stories) a listen to because I'm a big fan of the narrator, Emma Wilder.
Overall (for all three stories):
Honestly, I'm all for a good sex scene, but with all three of these stories it seemed the main focus was for the two main characters to have sex asap. None of these stories really called to me. Maybe it's because the main characters jumped each other so quickly into the story? Well they're short stories, one might say? Or perhaps, it's because women are all about sex taking place between two supposedly good-looking characters? Who cares about the plot?! I don't know. Either way, I feel like I ended up wasting a lot of time on this package.
Narrator:
Unfortunately, while I've had no issues with her reading style in the past (I've listened to many of her audiobooks), I did this time around. For whatever reason, there were many times throughout the story (Can't Get Enough) when there were random pauses, one specific example involved when Aliean and Shalin talked to each other. Basically blah blah blah............... Shalin-there'd be a really long pause before he or she actually said the other's name. It was like she was hesitant about saying either of their names, and I have no clue why. I can't imagine that's how it was written in the story, but it was definitely something that stuck out to me. There were also a few times when she'd mispronounce a word, for example, "ogle". Another area I question was the characters in "Can't Get Enough" being either Irish or Scottish, I'm guessing the narrator doesn't or can't do either of those accents. Again, I love Emma Wilder because she does a great job narrating, but I think someone who could do one of those accents would have really added to the story and characters.
Questions/Comments for "Can't Get Enough": 2/5
I found it questionable that Shalin seemed to be against humans ("You know you're not a human, right;" that was said by her to Aliean), yet, she loved reading which wasn't something dragons could naturally do, at least not with regular/human books or go to school.
The story of how her mother died was actually kind of funny. I mean, I'd imagine that dragons, her mother specifically, had eaten plenty of cows throughout her life, yet she ends up dying because she eats a bull. Did she not realize it had horns/was a bull prior to eating it?
I get that Shalin is a dragon and typically eats animals, usually in a whole animal form, unlike humans who cut them into pieces. When she's reading and petting the puppy, I was surprised that she had been planning on eating it, prior to Aliean telling her that she couldn't. Does she usually play with her food, prior to eating it? And what was she going to do? Go outside, change into a dragon, eat the puppy, then go back inside and continue reading? Considering she'd been living with humans for a good while, her wanting to eat the puppy (living with humans/humans have pets), it just didn't add up to me. Even more questionable was once Aliean told her the puppy was a pet, Shalin did a 180 and was all, "I'll love him and pet him and call him George" (not really), but she's suddenly all eager to take care of him. Similarly, with the horse; one second she thinks she'll get to eat the horse, the next she wants the horse as her best friend. It just didn't make sense to me. What did she eat while living with the humans? And her comment to Aliean about how he was limiting himself, foodwise? Yeah...no.
I can't imagine dragons needing weapons to find (the twins using lances).
At one point when Shalin is telling Aliean about her mother dying, she states that her mother had died when she/mother was 30 moons and apparently that was young. Later on, she explains how her parents had waited later in life to start a family. Therefore, she wouldn't have been young when she died, right?
What did Shalin want from Aliean? I couldn't figure her out. Her and Aliean seemed to have a great time together (besides having sex all the time), yet when he tells her he loves her and wants to have her forever, she suddenly changes her tune and is totally angry at him. Hence, she ends up slitting his throat (which I didn't get). Yes, he was a lady's man, but she should have known this time was different. But the throat slitting? I was actually really mad at her for that and was about to stop listening to the story. That was wrong. I wish Aliean would have just left her, especially since he'd only been nice to her up till that point. It's not his fault that the princess was obsessed with him and, therefore, Shalin was punished because of it.
On a similar note, I still don't get why she was that angry with him? She knew the princess wasn't a fan of her and also knew why the princess had basically sold her to the other dragon clan, yet never really seemed to care before then. But after Aliean confesses his love to her, she does a 180 and turns into a total b*tch.
How big are the dragons? And is their world on Earth where the humans are? I'm thinking not. I wonder about their size because of the chamber they're in during the court meeting.
Lastly, knowing that the lightning dragon clan is after Shalin, why in the world would Aliean have told her to go the castle (where there are only humans)?
----------------------------------------------
Questions/Comments for "Spellbound" 3/5
Narrator:
I'm really starting to wonder if Emma Wilder has always done the long pause (in my opinion) prior to saying a characters name/term of endearment when it comes at the end of a dialogue sentence. I've noticed it in this story as well. Not sure why I wouldn't have noticed this in the beginning (again, I've listened to many of her audiobooks). Perhaps it's because neither of these stories is really calling to me? I don't know.
Story:
Why am I not surprised that the main female witches name is Serena? That just seems too stereotypical to me.
Funniest line in this story? "His cock bobbed up from a thatch of dark curling hair, long and thick." I had to re-listen to this line because at first, I thought she was talking about his pubes being long and thick. Barf! lol
Why would Luis care that Jack wasn't worried about the fact witches were being killed? He seemed so upset during that scene, it didn't make any sense to me. Jack is a killer. Witches were nothing just another creature/female for him to kill.
Additionally, Serena ends up getting mad at Luis after finding out that Jack is a killer. Well, obviously she knew he was a demon, so what was the big deal? It's not like Luis wasn't there with her, albeit hiding. Plus, she'd already known Luis was going to use her as bait, so what was the difference between Jack and the real witch killer?
--------------------------------------------
Questions/Comments for "Turn me On" 1/5
Story:
As soon as I realized Justin was an alien/light creature from space and that seeing human women's breasts turned him on, I decided to stop listening to the story. Sorry, but that's just stupid! Why would a light creature get horny or turned on by human females? I love a good imaginative story, but this didn't cut it for me. The fact the reader/listener is introduced to Beth, we get some information on her, to suddenly being introduced to Justin, only to have time jump five-six months ahead without even knowing anything about him, yeah, I wasn't a fan. This story seemed almost like an afterthought. How is the reader/listener supposed to care about either character? Unless the writer was just going for a short porn story. For "Turn Me On," at least the part I listened to, I didn't feel like there was even a plot, there was no problem the characters had to figure out. It's like there are two characters with a half-ass introduction (more so for Justin), to suddenly "Let's have sex!" That was it. The end. No thanks!
There's a part when Justin invites Beth to his house for dinner (and obviously sex!). They've already stated that they're hungry. Justin asks Beth if she wants a plate. Her response? No, I'm starving! Huh? (less)

A pretty good anthology… Dragon Kin for the win!
I have a tendency to really like anthologies! Especially when they have at least one story that is from an author that I enjoy reading or carries a short story from a series I like. This anthology covers both of those bases in spades! Here are my ratings per story: Can't Get Enough (Dragon Kin #0.1 chronological reading order) by Shelly Laurenston (G A Aiken) 5 stars Spellbound by Cynthia Eden 3.5 stars Turn Me On by Noëlle Mack 3.5 stars I have read, Can't Get Enough multiple times to refresh my memory as new books are added to the series. Admittedly, this is one of my faves! Who wouldn't love Ailean the Wicked and his lady love Shalin the Innocent? If you haven't read this series by G A Aiken (A.K.A. Shelly Laurenston). I highly recommend it!

OK but not my favorite
I think I ran out of Alien stories to have found this. I was OK but not my cup of tea, slowly unfolding with strange world building but in the detail I like. The characters were OK but I did speed up the narration speed to just get to the end I quit after the first story. I think I was just in the wrong genre as I'm not usually a fantasy fan but more action/space/syfy and this was not it.
