This Story Is Sexy

Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author S.L. Scott comes a romantic suspense stand-alone that will have you on the edge of your seat and swooning over this new sexy alpha billionaire.

Six-foot-three. Dynamic green eyes. Utterly irresistible. Ethan Everest stole my breath the first time I saw him. He romanced me with skill, dazzled me with his charisma, and proceeded to steal my heart right after. I might have fallen for his easy-going smile the first time we met, but I fell for him the second time.

Honey-colored hair. Cherry-kissed lips. Captivatingly gorgeous. Singer Davis was the first, and only, woman to ever intimidate me. She spoke to my heart with her wit, seduced me with her eyes, and became the only thing that made sense in a world that made none. I let her slip through my fingers once. I won’t make that mistake twice.

Secrets broke us apart. Can a second chance bring us back together?

I love Sebastian York but....

I need SY to choose more carefully the books he narrates as well as his co-narrators. This book was supposed to be emotional but AE’s voice lacks the passion needed for this story, it is too lilting. SY is amazing but there was little to none of him. I’m beginning to think authors choose him because he’s an automatic click for many readers, but that’s starting to affect his ratings.

Ms Scott was out of her depth with this story though. This book was a mixture of everything but with no true depth or substance. The romance was lackluster, the suspense factor was anticlimactic; it felt out of place and rushed in this book, in fact, it never truly developed. Also, the emotion I expected to feel from the tragic event which took place in the book was nonexistent because of AE’s emotionless narration of the event.

All in all this book had me bored. I returned it for a full refund and will be steering clear of Ava Erickson’s narrations from now on, as well as take a break from Sebastian York for a while (at least until he starts doing more narrations worthy of his sexy voice).

An Everest if a listen

This is such a fantastic listen I can’t find the proper words for this listen . I can’t find the right words to do justice to this story . S.L.Scott wrote this story about how the choices in life always affects your outlook.

Everest and Singer meet at a party, it was innocent between them , but there was a spark there. Everest regrets that night and the lost opportunity to build on the feeling he got about Singer .

Singer is in NYC with her best friend trying to live their dreams . Singer meets Everest again and one thing leads to another, but right when Singer thinks they are taking 2 steps forward Everest puts a stop to it. He always says it’s not the right time .
There are lots going on with Everest ex best friend, his ex girlfriend that they want to take everything from Everest. A dick man that in order to get back and take action on Everest he will try and abuse Singer .
Ava Erickson and Sebastian York are great together. Their voices are $exy , powerful and strong

Amazing story must read

You had me, I didn't want the story to end.
You had me feel the love, tears, sad, lonely, surprise, frightening, fighting, friends, stories, parents, sister, parties, safety, stubbornness, disobey, laughter, happiness, anger, hate, acceptance, drunk, morning, beer, loyal, jealousy, chess, passion, love making, sex.
I think of captured everything if I missed something you'll understand you must read the story.

So much more than the average steamy romance

I listen to a lot of audiobooks. Too many to do more than rate them when I’m finished. When I do review a book or audio, it’s because the book moved me in some way and I feel compelled to voice my opinion. It’s rare that the light, contemporary, steamy romances pull me to my computer to type out a review. But here I am writing one for Everest by S.L. Scott.

I will admit, the first chapter or two was a little slow-going for me. I wasn’t sure this story was going to keep my interest. But that soon changed. Yes, Ethan was your typical twenty-something billionaire, or so we thought. There was so much depth to this character. He sacrificed his chance at happiness to protect his family and a girl he knew he fell for from the moment he saw her.

Ethan was right to care for Singer. Once he really got to know who she was, how could he not fall for her? She fell for him, not knowing he was rich and not caring once she found out. She saw him and the sad, troubled boy behind the wounded eyes. Together, they fight the demons that threaten them.

S.L. Scott took this story to a place I didn’t expect. This book broke my heart. I can’t say more, but I felt the pain, the losses, the tragedies. I couldn’t imagine life could ever be the same for these characters. This was no light story and I couldn’t imagine a HEA.

What I loved was how the author made the reader look at people in a different light. I live in NY and I’m in the city very often. The streets are lined with homeless. Do we ever stop to wonder who they were before they were on the streets? I guarantee you, you will when you are finished with this book. Everyone has a story - a life …before. Through the love and kindness and generosity of Singer, we learn those lessons. This is why I had to review this book. There is substance within the pages. Food for thought. Lessons to be learned. Tears to be shed. Joys to be celebrated.

I listened to this on audiobook. I’m not familiar with the author, but I am familiar with Sebastian York, the male narrator in this dual narration. I’ll listen to anything he narrates.

Even better than reading the book myself<br />

As much as I loved reading this book, listening to it was even better. Sebastian York and Ava Erickson have an amazing way of bringing the characters to life. You wont be disappointed.

Loved! Loved! Loved!

One of the best books I have listened to in a while. I loved everything about Ethan. I was sucked into the story from the beginning and couldn’t stop listening. I will definitely listen to it again.

Everest

One of the best books I've enjoyed on Audible. I was captivated, it was hard to put down. Confession, it was the second time i had listened. The first time i had not really paid attention to the words, but the second time Everest had all my attention and i enjoyed it.

The Perfect Singer...

It's her Mother's maiden name, and there's nothing Ethan won't do for Singer Davis.

As she starts to fall for the handsome and debonair Ethan.
Oh, and he's also a billionaire... who has several enemies... a former partner and a former girlfriend who want everything from him.

The green eyed monster is very evident in the story.

I won't tell you too much about "Everest" except to say this story is delightful!

The cast of characters are all very entertaining.

I laughed and I cried at the end of the story... with Scott's twists and turns.. and a shocking finale.

I think I've found another favorite story teller in S. L. Scott.

A WONDERFUL SURPRISE!

This book surprised me. I often find that many books I listen to are not memorable. This one will stay with me for a long time. Very well written.
