Publisher's Summary

Life has never been easy for Ethic. Since he was a young boy he has battled loss after loss while struggling to navigate through a treacherous world. When he met Alani Lenika Hill, he knew that he had met the woman who would love him back to life. They have weathered a storm together, and their love is so fated that neither wants to let it go, but it seems their bubble of happiness is an illusion, because life around them is falling apart.

When Morgan Atkins attempts suicide, their bliss is shattered. So much is on the line. So many things hang in the balance as Morgan fights for her life. Her broken heart has led her to this, but if she dies, the soul of Ethic's family will be buried with her.

In this heart-pounding series fans have been brought into a world of love, lust, anger, sadness, joy, hate, and most of all growth. Hold on tight for another installment of this epic love story told in such a poignant way that it's hard to distinguish the real world from the one in your head. Welcome back to the Ethic Effect.

Extremely Repetitive but Great Read

I love Ashley Antoinette, I really do BUT sis is sooo repetitive with her writing I found myself getting annoyed a lot. However, that does not change the fact that I love how this series can bring every single emotion out of you! Ethic 5 had me in tears and I wished more had been resolved. I feel the repetition took up too much space in this book and now I have to wait until next year for book 6. Also, I wouldn't mind a spin off book of the hood pastor; covering his past life and his present life battle between faith and flesh. I feel a new series brewing for Bella and Hendrix too. Overall great book as expected!

Please change it up!

I LOVE WHEN NICOLE SMALL READ!!!! She will bring life to any book Now about the book, I know there is always something, that is the excitement of reading books like these. However what happen in Book 3 with Alani is happening now with Morgan, rolls just reverse. Can we move on already and let these people grow and not be stuck in the same revolving sadness? Enough Already!! Book 4 was better than 3 or 5. Hopefully 6 will not be the same repetitive emotion and not drag it out for the sake of it.

Ethic

I have fallen in love 💘 with Ethic. I have listened to all but the last. I anxious awaiting for book 6. I was a little bothered by the relationship Ethic described how he felt about Morgan. A little to over the top. Overall his love for Alani, is a a beautiful love💕. Now Morgan got in my last nerve. I did not like how stupid acting her character was. Also, Mezziah was just as bad. I hope in book 6, everything falls into place. I truly want Ethic to be happy. I will always go back and listen to the Ethic series. Love Ethic.💞,

Alani

I swear I love you girl! Morgan I’m sick of you but the bond you have with Mesi...is amazing.

I wish I had a Ethic..that man deserves peace, and I’ll be his peace.

Amazing!!!!!!

I love the story line and the author. I am a romanticist and what I saw was the love between a man and women that withstood the test. I want to see more on the storyline and more development of Bella and her Hendrix and the pastor. Give me more.

More Of The Same

I read and listened like I have the previous 4, and *sigh*, much of the same with the emotional rollercoaster that is Alani and Ethic...AGAIN. Only this time there were a few more chuckles in-between and a few timely references to todays current climate. However, all of the sudo-sexual references between Ethic and Morgan's relationship and love were TOO much! I love my daughters. BUT as a parent, I am giving ANYONE a sideeye if I ever hear them say half of the things that Ethic said to describe his love for Morgan. When I physically read the book I must have skimmed those words, becausw hearing the words and how intimately those words described Morgan and Ethics relationship were TOO much! That is not common parent /child (birth or otherwise, regardless of the child's background) rhetoric. Morgan being given as much authority as she was given for most of the book IRKED my last dayum nerve and was TOO MUCH, too phony and too inauthentic to any black parents I know. Then Messiah being shown in this light, so week, having this as his storyline just felt unathentic and made me feel like it was an attempt at the ultimate shock but turned into a major fail. Like it just didn't go with the history of the series. There were so many directions that this book could have gone in..but this direction to weaken this black man was unnecessary. AND Nicole's narration makes Ethic sound like an overweight open mouth breather. The adult scenes with Nicole talking like that- in Ethics voice, just made me feel uncomfortable not at all turned on. So we are approaching book 6 and we are still only in year 1 with these characters. Clearly, the character development is lacking. But... I have committed to seeing this through to the end. Call me a nosey glutten for punishment I guess. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️If you are on the fence about it listening, go in with the understanding that the entire 8+ hours only covers a few weeks in their lives. So once again, no real growth or change for anyone and yes, another cliff hanger. But you will chuckle a time or two.
