Reseñas editoriales

In a recorded sermon at Seacoast Church, a large evangelical church based in Charleston, South Carolina, Senior Pastor Greg Surrat addresses Christians waiting on what he calls a "Messiah-sized" promise. Examples include the college graduate who has yet to land a job and a couple who has lost a child. In a colloquial and non-threatening manner, Surrat asks what kind of faith a person needs to lead a fulfilling life.

Pastor Greg’s answer, which is cushioned by familiar verses from the Old and New Testaments, comes in the form of an extended coffee metaphor, where espresso is the spirit that fuels true faith. He urges the listener to move from "latte faith", which is 75 percent milk, to espresso faith, which is "the real thing".

The author has a unique way of presenting God's word with both humility and humor that will get your attention. Most of us have a lot of trouble applying God's truth to our every day lives . . . and BELIEVING that God is able to deliver those Messiah Sized Promises to a sinner such as us. We think that we don't deserve "the desires of our heart". Well, WE DON'T. And that's the point. How do we trust God enough to believe that God can deliver on His promises? Greg Surratt's analogy between faith and coffee is fresh and inviting. Don't miss this very timely message of hope.

Great Analogy of Faith and God's Promises
