Publisher's summary

Twenty-nine-year-old Lucas Thompson is at the top of the corporate ladder. But when his lifelong friend and ex-boyfriend invites him to his last-minute destination wedding in the Bahamas, Lucas realizes his corporate success can't hide his private loneliness. Nor will he be able to escape seeing his family at the wedding and having to explain, yet again, why he is rich, handsome and still single.

Fate and a taxi ride change everything when Lucas meets the charismatic and clever Jack McQueen, who just so happens to be a male escort. Jack's presence on Lucas' arm at the wedding keeps questions at bay, but their pretend relationship turns into something more after 10 days of sun, sand, and sex. And before the trip is over, both men will discover that what started as a simple escapade in paradise might just lead to their very own happily ever after.

Fun in the sun, love in the sand.

Book Review:

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The "Pretty Woman" storyline has been retold many times but not like this one.

Lucas, a successful attorney is forced to attend his ex-boyfriend's destination wedding on short notice. He doesn't want to be surrounded by his whole family for 10 days forced to answer questions about why he's still single. Fate steps in when Lucas ends up sharing a cab with Jack McQueen. Jack is a professional escort, who better to accompany Lucas to the wedding?

As the two iron out the details of there agreement and spend time together on the island they start to realize that their "pretend" feeling maybe real. Can 10 days of fun in the sun be enough to show Jack and Lucas what love is?

This was a great slow burn romance, and boy oh boy once it got hot it was scorching! I loved all of snarky comments and witty banter back and forth between Jack and Lucas. All of the wedding activities were hilarious, especially the Zill-lympics.

The character development was great, by the end of the book I was so invested in the characters they felt like my own family. This was my first read by Dolce, definitely won't be the last.

Audio Review:

Loved listening to this story. The only disappointing thing for me was the narrators accent. I was expecting an authentic British accent since the characters were London based. This is 16+ hours of pure joy.

10/10

A nice feel good story. Lovely writing and decent narration. Definitely recommend if you like romance.

Jacks voice was not at all what I was expecting after having already the book, though. That's my only complaint.

Amazing story, annoying narration

I'd previously read this story multiple times but I thought I'd indulge myself with the audiobook while I was at work. Mr. Mason's voice for Lucas was fine but the tone and timbre used for Jack just made such a lovable character so unlikeable. It almost made him sound sleazy? Which, the character when read in the book is never sleazy and completely lovable. Also, the characters were English and use English slang but the narrator was American. This was kind of annoying. But aside from narration this story is a forever favorite. The chemistry between Lucas and Jack is so great and fun to read. Definitely recommend the book version!

Unlistenable

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I love this book! The audible version however, is unlistenable. The voice of Jack is awful. I wish Mr Mason had found a better voice for Jack as he's one of the best characters to come out of 2016 M/M romance (IMO) Luke was passable. But Jack sounded so unlikable I couldn't get past it. In my head, even in the beginning Jack had a humor to his voice that makes you HAVE to like him even when he came across as rude.

Any additional comments?
Read the book. It's worth it!
