Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author J. Daniels comes a sexy new stand-alone novel.

Riley Tennyson has made a huge mistake.

At least that's what she keeps telling herself.

Showing up to her brother's wedding pissed off and newly single, Riley seeks comfort in solitude and an open bar...until the gorgeous and irresistibly charming CJ Tully makes her a better offer - a wild night with the master of smooth-talking where nothing is off limits.

Riley does what any single woman would do, and a connection is made. One neither one of them can ignore. But when she comes home to the boyfriend she no longer thought she had, Riley buries her secret and begs CJ to do the same.

Forget about each other. It was a mistake. That's all it was...right?

Desires are hidden. Distance is kept. Until one night CJ makes the ultimate sacrifice, and Riley can no longer avoid the man she can't stop thinking about.

Not with him sleeping down the hall.

J Daniels has become a few favorite!

I love this series and J Daniels has become a new favorite go-to author for me! I did get a little annoyed with Riley's need to lie to Reed.

Hot Damn, this book is fire !!!!

This book left me with a book hangover!!! My gosh every part of this story, every part of the narration! I literally could not put this book down! I’m actually jealous of anyone who hasn’t listened to it yet. Its just one of those that you want to hear for the first time again and again ..

I SOOO wish i knew about this book before and now i see that is part of a series! Take my money, the rest of books are going into my cart!

Stella Bloom and Eric Michael Summerer you were incredible!!! I felt all the feels, it was hot, romantic, funny as hell, passionate and swoon worthy!!!! J Daniels muah!! Chef's Kiss

Riley was a spitfire southern girl who had a heart of gold and a lot of love to give she was just with the wrong man. In comes CJ a hot as hell cop who's a close friend of her brothers. When they meet, sparks fly immediately and their strong chemistry explodes It is magical !! Definitley this one is going on my favorites list.

I stop in front of CJ and touch his cheek, running my fingers below the swelling around his eye. “Are you okay?” I whisper. CJ’s split lip twitches. “My hand is a little sore…” “Not you, you idiot,” I hiss into the line, gripping the phone harder. “God, I cannot believe you hit him, Reed. I’m hanging up now.” “Hey, wait a second.” I drop my hand from CJ’s face and glare at the carpet. “What?” I snap. “He knows—if he hurts you, I’m coming after him,” Reed warns. My lungs fill with air. I blink. Is this Reed’s approval? “You… it’s okay that we’re, or that we were… um, I just, I need to know,” my lip quivers. “Can I love him? Is that okay?” I whisper.

Absolutely loved this book!

God, I love this book! CJ is so amazing. Those "Darlin's" are so hot and extremely dangerous. The book was so well written that Riley got on my last damn nerve! I spent the whole book yelling at Riley to "MAN UP!!! Reed is your brother, not your father!!!" The performance of the actors are so incredible. I could sleep listening to Eric Micheal Summerer's voice... and do.

Another great addition to the series

CJ is currently my fav Bama boy from this series, Easy going, fun, and patient. I like the character of Riley ( quirky, sassy, and fun) but had a difficult time understanding her need to lie to her brother about who she was dating. Who the h*ll needs their brothers approval? She's an adult for Christ sake! Overall I enjoyed this book, lots of funny moments ( ie.. girls night). Great chemistry between the main characters and really enjoyed the fact that all the previous characters were involved in this storyline. Hope we get to find out what happens to these characters in a future book.

CJ is the man!

Writing style: Dual POVs

Cover and chapter design: I like this cover, but I especially love the chapter POV design graphic that matches it.

Dual format read – Yes or No?: Yes! Audiobook was my primary format, but I bookmarked and highlighted a few scenes in my e-book copy as well.

Stella and Eric make a very dynamic narrating duo. I’m still loving their voice acting choices especially Eric’s for little Noah.

Story rating: ★★★1/2
My favorite thing about this 5th installment in the Alabama Summers series is CJ’s views on how a man treats a woman he’s dating. Nolan stole the show again. I couldn’t help but grin anytime he popped up in a scene. The fact that he already has a little girlfriend was too cute.

One of my favorite scenes was when Reed threatens CJ after CJ confessed how he really felt about Riley. I loved that Reed could laughingly concede he’d at least throw something at those big muscles of CJ’s in Riley’s honor if CJ broke her heart. I’m sure that won’t be necessary luckily for them both, ha!

Coming up next text:
CJ’s brother Jake is apparently getting his own story in Say I'm Yours (Alabama Summer, #6). The release date is still to be confirmed, but I would definitely want to read it in dual formats (primarily via audiobook format) again. My ears will be super happy if audiobook narrators Stella Bloom and Eric Michael Summerer return with their consistently fantastic voice acting.
