Would you listen to Undercover Sins again? Why?
I bought the book and read though it first and I personally liked the weird and off the wall story. Which is why I though why not buy the audiobook? The sample for the audio the narrators voice wasn't too bad so I decided to buy it.... but omg when it came to the intimate parts. It was hard to listen to it was awkward and bad voice acting/reading. Then accents for certain characters were just down right bad at inconsistent at times. I read this book over and over again... but the audio..Yesh!~ it was bad. I never listened to it from start to end once. I had to stop because it was painful to listen to.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Stay within darkness for too long and you will be come just as dark
Any additional comments?
I felt that the narrator was not use to this book genre, because the acting required for these types of novels requires a certain finesse and Michael Anthony did not have it.

Great story. I love the action and the smexing was just hot. I even liked all the grunting. I usually don't like the grunting... but it worked with this book. I totally like the underworld life of Vegas king pin!
Narration was great. I like when a narrator reads the characters not the books...

How did the narrator detract from the book?
He never changed his voice for the 3 major characters in the story. Ty, Demetrius, and Lee all sounded the same. So it was difficult at times to distinguished who was saying what. Especially during arguments when he talked faster and raised his voice. But you know he is capable of changing his voice because he did so for all the bad guys in the book.
I will give the narrator points for effort though since he tried to sigh, laugh, chuckle, grunt, moan, etc when the story called for it. Unfortunately most of those moments sounded forced and fake and just plain awkward.
The narrator wasn't bad enough to put him on my "never listen to again" shelf but I will definitely listen to a sample of the audiobook before I jump to purchase.
Did Undercover Sins inspire you to do anything?
Undercover Sins inspired me to check out more by this author. Despite my feelings towards the narrator I did enjoy the story itself for the most part.
I love this story but the unique narration it's what makes it one of my favorites. Michael Anthony made me want to hear more and Haley B. James made me fall in love with the characters. This duo was amazing.
Spoiler Ahead This was a pretty good book and a bit confusing at times. Police officer Gabriel Carter refuses to walk away from an assignment without seeing it through. So when he goes into deep cover as a male prostitute named Ty. he spends three months trying to get close to Demetrius Prado, the second most powerful man in Las Vegas and a human trafficker, but the man is nothing like he expected. Demetrius and his bodyguard Lee are really under FBI agents who are trying to take down the big boss of the operation. The sex scenes in this book were pretty good. When the bosses son Arden takes in interest in Ty because he wants to take him away from Demetrius because he is jealous. Arden was a real piece of work he uses his pets hard and kills them. Gabriel is so confused and the book had me confused he didn't know if he should believe Dem about being with the FBI and I still wasn't sure if he was or not until the end of the book. Arden used Gabriel's friend CI Jackson to get Ty by kidnapping him. This was my first time reading this author this book was well written with no errors in spelling or grammar. I am looking forward to reading or listening to the next book in this series.
Where does Undercover Sins rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Among one of the best.
I read it on Kindle first and loved the story, so when I had a chance to get the Audiobook, I took it.
What did you like best about this story?
First I love the characters,
Ty and Demitrius are great together, Jackson is a sweet boy and I love him too.
The story is amazing, I love undercover cop stories, and this one ticks all my boxes in a very good way.
The twists and turns here are great and there is so much going on here and it is just amazing.
What about Michael Anthony’s performance did you like?
I have read a lot of reviews that says that the preformance is bad...
I have to disagree to that.
I think Michael Anthony have a great voice for this book. I also love the laughs, the sex voice and all the moans, groans and sexy noices that he brings to this story. Never heard that in an Audiobook before.
Michael Anthony should have 5 stars himself for the voices here.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Love is dangerous in so many ways! But sometime it is worth it.
Any additional comments?
Just that I really love this book, the story, Ty, Dimitrius, Jacckson, Lee - even Arden that I hate soooo much and the rest of the characters here.
The story is wonderful and just draws you in.
Would you try another book from Hayley B. James and/or Michael Anthony?
The narrator is terrible. A one stage was ready to throw iPod out car window.... If I had to hear one more moan or laugh. This is the worst book I have ever listened to. The story was predictable. The only positive thing I can say is I have really bad insomnia and it put me to sleep, twice. Lol
What was most disappointing about Hayley B. James’s story?
It was so predictable. I did listen to the end because I thought there must be a good plot twist. No got to the end and by the first five chapters I could guess what was going to happen.
What didn’t you like about Michael Anthony’s performance?
Everything
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Undercover Sins?
All of it
Any additional comments?
Maybe it is better just reading it and not so annoyed by the narrator
I couldn't finish this. It surpassed kinky and got strange, and for me that's a difficult line to cross.
while I really enjoyed this story, the narrator really tried my patience. I was cringing, chuckling and cringing again during his sex scenes and those ridiculous sounding moans.
If you can read the book as it is really good. I don't think I ever got used to his young voice and wanna-be porn moans. It was distracting to be honest.
The story was quite fun, seeing the twist and turns play out (even though I had a pretty good guess quite early on where things were going). The characters were mostly enjoyable. Arden made a pretty good bad guy, Lee/Timothy was a nice and stable side character to have other characters bounce of off, Demetrius/Ewan was amusingly straight-laced for being such a twisty guy and then of course there was Ty/Gabriel that was angsty and twisted up most of the story. Poor confused guy but he certainly had a lot of amusing moments. Jackson was also pretty much impossible not to like.
There were parts of the book I didn't like too much but that's pretty much to be expected from a plot involving human trafficking. So in a way that's good critique since the reader/listener is supposed to feel bad about those kind of things. I'm also a bit sensitive to angst *small smile* especially with characters that can be slightly dense about theirs or others feelings *chuckle*
I'm sorry to say that the worst thing about this book (in my personal opinion) is the narrator. I wanted to give him 2,5 stars but that wasn't really an option *slight shrug*
He was incredibly monotone when he wasn't reading conversations – thankfully he at least was lively during those although sometimes it was difficult to understand which character that said what.
It also surprised me when he actually narrated laughs, sighs and moans – I haven't heard a narrator do that before. *smile*
His reading got more okay over time though, it took a while but I got used to it, especially when I was listening for longer times without breaks.
I'm also very easy when it comes to narrators since I have too much imagination and can pretty much "correct" whatever I feel is wrong with a performance inside my head.
If you want a story with lots of undercover fun, this book is for you. If you're one of those were the narrator completely make or break an audiobooks and feel you have a problem with the things I mentioned above I think you can be a bit cautious with this book.
