Publisher's summary

In the weeks following Aidan's betrayal, Emma has tried her best to move on. Ignoring his countless texts, voice mails, and flowers, she isn't sure she wants to be won back by him. But Aidan isn't going down without a fight - especially not until Emma lets him reveal the secret of his past that caused him to be so commitment phobic.

But fate intervenes when premature labor forces Emma on strict bed rest for two weeks. Aidan steps forward with a shocking proposal. To prove his love and commitment for her and their unborn son, he will take a leave of absence from work to care for her around the clock. Vowing to guard her heart, Emma reluctantly agrees. While she is touched by Aidan's attentiveness and tender loving care, Emma is thrown for a loop by the amorous attentions of ER doctor, Alpesh "Pesh" Nadeen. Pesh is everything Emma could ever want - successful, stable, and ready to settle down and be a husband and father. Pesh wants nothing more than to win Emma's heart, but she is not sure she's able to give it.

didn't care for the narrator.

i loved this book when i read it on my kindle, but the audio was just not the greatest. the voices for some of the females were far too shrill for my liking, bordering on obnoxious or valley-girl and the voice for aiden--well, i just didn't like it at all.

the problem might be that when i read the book, their voices were already in my head in a certain way. you know how that is, and then when i listened to it, well, it was just flat. didn't like it at all. so maybe it's my fault. i don't know. either way, i loved the book, but not the narrator.

Dear author...

Any additional comments?

Dear Author,
Let me introduce you to a thesaurus, see its a book the has many options for expressing words. Synonyms for "giggle" would be titter, laugh, chuckle...
Sincerely,
Concerned Reader

Other than my upset that the author wrote about a 30 year old woman who can only express joy by giggling. This was a good story.
*giggle

blah

What disappointed you about The Proposal?

did not like the hero - especially in the beginning of the book. He was a selfish jerk. Also would have been nice to have the characters history/back story in more depth at the beginning chapter of the book - instead of a short blip of his tragedy.

Would you ever listen to anything by Katie Ashley again?

maybe

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

not really

What a waste, don't bother.

Any additional comments?

I feel that I wasted money on this book. I can't even finish this one. It is soooooo boring! I can't bring myself to listen to anymore of it. I wouldn't recommend it.

At least it’s finished

I loved the first book in this series. I just couldn’t wait until this one came out. It just wasn’t what I was expecting. I was hoping for more drama. I thought Aidan and Emma would go through more “stuff” but it was more like a lukewarm bath. I just needed MORE. Well we can’t have it all. I just wish I’d saved my credit for something more exciting. There’s not much in this one to get excited about and it could be done by adding a few chapters to the end of the first book instead of having another book. Oh well.

So, in my opinion I’d save my credit for a better book.

Narrator was good, but not buying the next book.

Would you try another book from Katie Ashley and/or Justine O. Keef?

From Justine O. Keef, yes. Katie Ashley? Probably not...

What could Katie Ashley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I hate Pesh. Oh yes, he's supposed to be this über perfect specimen of manhood. But I just hated him. I wanted to skip any scene he was in. It got so bad just hearing his name mentioned automatically made me go "ugh". So, shorter scenes with him or fewer mentions of him or maybe making him less unbelievably "perfect" would have made this more enjoyable. And Emma and Pesh making out at Aidan's doorstep??? What. The. Hell. After she made such a fuss over catching Aidan doing the same thing? It made me dislike Emma and want to smack her. Tasteless. Also hate the importance she placed on Aidan saying "I love you" and disregarding all the actions he did to show it instead. Oh, and why does it have to be Pesh who points this out to her?And what's with all the "thank you's"? Seemed like a character was saying "thank you" every few sentences. It was getting annoying.

What does Justine O. Keef bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I would have stopped reading the second Pesh showed up. At least with someone else reading the story for me, I could someone slog through it.

Any additional comments?

Not buying the next book since the main character is the same one that ruined this for me. I don't care about Pesh Nadeen.

Good Story Painful Narrator

The lady reading made it sound like every guy in the book was an old ancient man with a shaky voice. Didn't do well when picturing the characters in my head and honestly probably ruined it for me BUT I was thinking objectively would I like this as a movie and I would. It has a good story, simple, predictable, but cute and something you want to keep listening to.

Not a fan

Book one's continuation...basically the same story...with a different end. I don't recommend cliff hangers and book 2 was almost identical to book 1 for me with an alternative ending.

About as bad as the first

First book was terrible. This one was just as painful to finish. Narrator does this storyline zero justice, probably made it worse 😂.
I did like how Aidan was made to grovel for a good portion of the beginning. After that I skimmed through the rest of the book. I feel like these two books were nine months long! 😂😂😂
Do not use a credit
