Publisher's summary

Welcome to the Silver Bullet, the hottest gay club that offers everything from dance floor to dungeon!

Alpha Gideon Channing isn't just the leader of his pack in New Orleans. He's also the owner of Silver Bullet, a gay club that offers everything from a dance floor to a dungeon. The club caters to all of its customers from shifters to vampires and even humans. Josh Gordon is human. He's just graduated college and is ready to party. He knows that paranormals exist. In fact, everyone does. It's not a secret.

After drinking and dancing with his friends, large arms wrap around him and he's instantly blown away that a huge wolf shifter would be interested in him. The two men spend a wild night together, but when Josh wakes up, he's scared of the awkward morning after. He can't understand why his heart hurts with each step he takes toward the door. Before he can sneak out, Gideon stops him and convinces him that he needs more than just one night.

Thank goodness for Nick J. Russo

I have a thing about shifter romance novels.... I LOVE THEM. The whole mate connection, one and only true bonding love, and HEA always make me happy. This novella-- and yes, I'm calling it a novella because it's terribly short-- wasn't awful, but it certainly wasn't amazing. I liked the concept of the 'too young to be mated' theme, and I was excited to see where the storyline was going... unfortunately, it just didn't 'grab' me. I wanted more angst, more drama.... essentially more conflict. So, although I hate to admit it, the book ultimately bored me. HOWEVER, Nick J. Russo, is a damn good narrator, and so his voice saved the day. I did buy book 2. (I thought the series would amuse me like Marcy Jack's shifter series always do... so, I will write a review for that one also, but take it from me... one of these novellas is enough. Save your money, definitely do NOT use a credit, and find another shifter novel for your listening pleasure.

Happy Reading!

Lighter, low-angst listen!

I actually really liked this book. Usually you know what to expect with Siren Publishing, so I had an idea of what I was getting. I’m not sure I would have liked it as well if it hadn’t been narrated by Nick J. Russo, though. He did an awesome job with the voices (does he ever not?) and it was easy to slip into the storyline. Parts of the story were a little amateurish but it didn’t stop me from re-listening multiple times. You’ve got a world where shifters and humans co-exist, along with the true mate trope. It is part of a series and the second book is the only other one on Audible. If you want a light book for an afternoon, this is a good choice, especially if you’re a shifter/true mate fan like myself.
