Publisher's Summary

After several months of exceptionally vivid, wonderfully sexy dreams in which she is visited by a mysterious stranger who punishes and pleasures her as he sees fit, one night Ellie awakens to find herself in an unfamiliar place. She is lying naked on a table in an odd, purple-lit room, exposed and vulnerable, and the man who looms over her is devastatingly handsome yet definitely not human.

Introducing himself as Valodar, he gently explains that he is an alien from another world and he has been visiting Ellie in what he calls the dreamscape. Certain that she is the perfect woman for him and wanting her to experience life as his mate, he invites her to stay with him, but he makes it clear that she will have to submit to him completely.

Though his warning that she will be thoroughly spanked for any disobedience gives Ellie pause, Valodar's mere presence leaves her yearning for his touch and she cannot resist accepting his offer. She quickly discovers that Valodar possesses unique physical traits, and he sends her tumbling into one shattering climax after another, claiming her more thoroughly than she would have ever thought possible.

But even as love begins to blossom between the dominant alien and the feisty human girl, their growing passion is interrupted when the Earth suddenly falls under threat from a cunning and ruthless alien race. Valodar insists that she must leave the matter in his hands, but can Ellie sit idly by while her world is in peril?

A bit corny.

Voice actor sounds way to much like Reed on Star Trek Enterprise. "stinkey". Well anyway the dialogue was frustrating...freaking out. Conflict far to easily resolved.

Keep the title -- it fits.

What did you love best about The Alien's Rules?

This man/alien is gorgeous and humanoid, however,he has unique differences that most human men would envy. I sure enjoyed the awakening that human females are not just cute little playthings, but have a mind that is valuable as well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ellie. She is a real down to earth woman. Dealing with the subjugation required is a real task and job for Valador.

What about Rob Groves’s performance did you like?

I'm a sucker for an accent. I liked his. It wasn't too uptight English, but not too casual either. A nice in-between.

Any additional comments?

This is a good story of love/abduction, Light BDSM, and danger with plenty of steam. I really liked that even the superiors learned that human woman do not need to be seen and not heard. It was a problem for Ellie to submit and I think an ongoing problem Valador will have to continue dealing with. The battle was unique, unexpected, and one that the salvation could only be seen by someone from the outside. For those alien book lovers, this is a good one, don't miss it.

Perfect Dominant Alien

Didn't really fancy alien stories but this was special. Story was amazing and also excited especially when it's nearing the war time. I loved Valodar, the name is extremely special! I loved the way Rob Groves narrate and express the stories! Overall, everything was fantastic and didn't wanted it to end! Thanks Maggie and Rob 😘

The narrator really brings it to life!

I read The Alien's Rules before I got the audiobook. I'm not much into alien fantasies but I did love the fact Ellie is a strong female who figures out how to save the day. Plus the steamy sex and domination scenes didn't hurt! But once you have the smoother-than-warm-silk voice of Rob Groves narrating those same scenes, WOW!! He really breathes life into the characters and pours even more emotion into Ellie's relationship with her alien. This is the perfect way to stay warm during those cold winter nights!

A fabulous book with a great narrator

I enjoyed reading the book but hearing it made it that much more enjoyable.
Ms. Carpenter has managed to team up her brilliant book with an outstanding narrator who somehow manages to enhance an already wonderful story. Ellie is a hoot and kept me laughing at her impetuous behavior. This audio book is so worth the credit. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
