Amusing story about poney play and other kinks!

I have just gone through the audio book "The Accidental Domme". I rarely choose to listen to a story over reading it myself, and I should do it more often. One can more easily let himself get carried away in the story by the rhythm and cadence of spoken prose as one would listen to a good song, provided the narrator is talented. It is so the case here.

This story will appeal especially to those into poney play and piercing. It also dabbles into chastity play, whipping and public play. Some of the scenes appealed to my senses but not all of them. Much effort was put in describing scenes, at the detriment of a deep dive to the feelings and the senses. It was a bit like listening to a visual rendering of an act instead of relating the emotional state of the characters. The storyline was also somewhat too farfetched to my liking, but that is just personal preferences.

I guess I like darker stories with mixed and conflicting emotions, not only mixed sensations. Everybody seemed to be too delighted of living out their fantasies to be true, or to seem realistic. It lacked perspective, yet the writing was strong and fluid, and the narrator's pleasant voice from the audiobook added tempo and sexyness to the overall experience.

Honestly, when the story seems to jump around, it's jarring but believe me when I say it all makes sense. The overall story is very niche erotic (pony play, severe discipline) but in those niches, it works very well.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The summary about the book made me think that there would be more men in it than there really was. The majority of the book was F/f and pony play. There are quite a few piercings, needle play, and branding. I have never been a fan of branding and it would be better as a tattoo because even if you think you will be with a person forever, it is better to have something that could potentially be removed. The story was mostly focused on the acts that go on and less on the emotional background of the characters that would have made them more enjoyable.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Narrator was fine.

Could you see The Accidental Domme being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Not at all. The world isn't ready for this kind of thing.

This story was different to what I expected from the brief synopsis. It quickly moves from one of chastity to include, piercing/needle play, branding and pony play. A large part of the story was Femdom F/f play which was a delightful surprise for me.

I was tardy with my review and am struggling to recall the full-story. So I guess that means it wasn't overly memorable :/

Narration - I enjoyed the narrators voice, she did a great job.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I am conflicted how I feel about this book. On one hand it was nice to hear/listen to the Domme side of things. I was hoping that by listening to this book I would have a whole other perspective of this type of pairing but sadly it did not work for me. Hence the 3 stars.

The author did a pretty good job of setting the scene for the reader/listener. I even squirmed a bit when the needle play started it made me hurt all over ... I am definitely NOT a pain slut. OUCH!

If you are into Fem-Dom and Ff who are into S&M and pony play you will like this book. The author definitely wrote a good book. If your not into reading/listening to this type of book then your better off reading something else.

I thought the scenario of a personal trainer becoming a Domme and training subs in the gym was very unique. AWESOME idea! Especially since I think they are a bit sadistic to begin with ;). Then taking that training and whipping subs into shape on pony farm to train ponies believable.

It is an interesting book with some interesting scenarios but the book lacks good character development but it is a short book and the author packed the book with a lot of other interesting things. I personally would have liked a fuller story better though.

Yes I was able to differentiate between characters.

The story is narrated in lucid style with a feminine touch.I rate it highly among the audiobooks I have listened to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite character in the book is Wendy because she is both cute and submissive .She develops from one who is completely ignorant of submission and domination to a passionate participant in the game of BDSM with Dave her partner.

Have you listened to any of Hollie Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first audiobook experience of Femdom.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It makes exciting reading with hot sex scenes about how to tease pussy with the combined stimuli of tongue and fingers,exploring someones sexuality through chastity control as well as the benefits of chastity devices.

Above all,the book makes it clear that the relationship between a mistress and her slave is contractual.
