Publisher's summary

An appetite for sensual pleasures must never be denied....

Lily Ellis has curves - soft, beautiful curves. The kind of voluptuous body she fears Travis Carson, the man she's always loved from afar, would never crave. But Lily is about to be proven wrong. Her adventure begins when the demure San Francisco interior decorator agrees to model a plus-size dress for her fashion designer sister. Watching this sensual beauty move down the runway, Travis can't believe it's the same Lily he's always known - and always rejected. In a whirlwind of electric attraction, Lily is soon moaning Travis's name in his bed, not just in her wild fantasies. But Lily is all too aware that she's nothing like his past lovers.

Determined to beat Travis at his own game by guarding her true feelings, Lily partners with him on a business deal that takes them all the way to Italy. In the seductive warmth of the Tuscan sun, Lily plays a game of desire with the hot-blooded Travis. Will she be burned by an all-consuming ecstasy or will Travis open his heart to the sexy, exciting, and lasting love she has to offer?

Critic reviews

"Emotionally charged and deliciously erotic. A must-read from cover to cover." (Jaid Black)

"Oh my! Bella Andre's Take Me is wonderfully sexy - a big, fun fantasy with an equally big heart. You'll cheer these characters on as they find each other...and themselves!" (Emma Holly)

She needs some self esteem!

I was so excited to see that this book had a heroine that was full figured. Couldn't wait to start listening, only to be disappointed to have her have NO self esteem. I know that most full figured women can have lower self esteem, but this went way overboard. Main Story is good, but you'll have a few eye rolls with all of the low self esteem.

LOOKiNG FOR THE PLOT!!!!!!!!!!

Would you try another book from Bella Andre and/or Grace Grant and Ian MacLaren ?

Yes If the plot was better

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not the next book in this series!!!!

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

They were both good,

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Total disappointment. Everything was about erotic sex and a dress. I just wish Bella had spent just as much time on the characters as she did on the specifics of the sex acts. Most women are looking for strong women characters (like the Sullivan women) not some wuss like Lily to read about. This is 2015 not 1950. Most of us women know we are more than a sex object. We also know being in love can be a wonderful thing. But we must be treated with love and not like some "Ho". Lily put all her womanhood on a dress! Really??? If thinking a dress can change you, you need therapy!!!!! I do appreciate the story about a full figured woman, but make it real. Not all full figured women have a complex about their size. The book mentioned Queen Latifah. I don't see this sister acting shy. Try again Bella.

Any additional comments?

I have bought almost everything Bella Andre/Lucy Kevin has had on Audible. I really like her stories. BUT if this is her new path, I will be finding a new author. I hope the real Bella will come back with real plots and stories.

No real plot

If you like sex scenes unconnected by any real plot, by all means, buy this book. Otherwise, save your credit. Boring. I couldn't listen more than halfway.

Poor poor pitiful me

I wanted to like this story about a full figured woman finding love. If the main character Lilly had liked herself she may have been more likable to me. I couldn't bear to hear a 30+ college educated & attractive woman whining and moaning that no one could love her because she was "fat". I stopped listening to the pity party after less than 2 hours.

scenes ok

What would have made Take Me better?

The way it was written and the descriptions used made it seem like i was listening to someone's fantasies being read aloud. Yes the sex was hot but as a whole it fell a little flat.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Fury of Fire

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

As a larger woman I can relate to Lilly on some levels but she irritated me more than gained any sympathy.

Don't waste your money!

After reading the other reviews I had high expectations of Take Me, but I was really disappointed - the book was flat and lacked the spark that makes you want to keep listening despite the late hour and lack of sleep.

The narration by Grace Grant was superb as always, but Ian MacLaren sounded like he was bored and just wanted to finish up and go home.

I am a huge fan of Bella Andre but this book lacked the usual finesse that I have come to expect from her writing.

Returning

Difficult to finish due to amateur writing, thin/cringeworthy storyline, and lackluster narration. In the future I will I will likely avoid anything in this genre narrated by Ian Mclaren. Grace Grant is not my favorite narrator but she has been spot-on in other performances (i.e., Christina Lauren audiobooks) where she has portrayed stronger characters. Don't look to this book for strong female characters, however. And while I specifically chose this book because of it's portrayal of an "average" size 16 woman, I was disheartened by how this portrayal reinforced stereotypes that size 16 women have no self esteem, men who dare to date them are heroic ("she was beautiful to me"), and size 2 women are perfect but bitchy. It's nice to read books where average women are portrayed, but why can't these average women have average problems or hang-ups of average severity, without plot lines focusing so intensely on the size of their jeans? Most women, unfortunately, have concerns about their appearance--Low self esteem isn't an issue reserved for those of us with clothing sizes in the double digits, and not all size 16 women feel unworthy of an attractive man's attention. But books like this seem to reinforce the idea that we should feel lucky to receive it. Steamy smexy-times are the only reason I gave this two stars. I'm returning this one.

Ugly fat chick loves God like jerk

Main female character thinks she's ugly but she's in a fashion show and at no time was anything about her features shown as off. Thinks she's fat in a size 16. Self depreciation overload. Either the female narrator or the actual book has an inflection during every sentence and neither does well with an Italian accent but the female is better. Lots of sex with no relationship building and then female character is back to hating her fat, ugly self... That doesn't end until the last 18 minutes. The main male guy is a jerk for 97% of the book and fails to change at every opportunity given him... Until the last 3 (maybe 2) chapters and then a complete 180.

Can't believe I listened to the whole thing

What would have made Take Me better?

An actual interesting story instead of one ridiculous sex scene after another. I don't think you can be a scared to death of the way you look and then a sexual dominatrix in one fell swoop. It was just too icky for words

Has Take Me turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. I like erotica and there are great books out there-- the crossfire series , the stark series, this man series, really even 50 shades. This was an embarrassment to the genre. I will definitely avoid this author in the future

How could the performance have been better?

The male narrator was the worst--really bad with female. He just didn't try or when he did he was awful. I have listened to the female narrator before. She is not my favorite but she is ok

What character would you cut from Take Me?

I didn't really like anyone. Lily and Travis were both whiney and irritating. I like the idea of a real size girl but she had so many hang ups about it that it just made it not at all good for me
