Fitting title!

Teresa Mummert is a new author to me, while I have listened to both narrators (Logan McAllister and Lacy Laurel) before. I enjoyed the point of views of the main characters (Drake and Gabby) in the story. There were some very unexpected twists in this book and I was pleasantly surprised. I think the book would have been better if there were a few more of the insights from Drake's POV. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I received this book as a gift and voluntarily written this review.

Good Listen

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

I wasn't sure what to expect by this book as it's the first I've listened to of Teresa Mummert. It had a pretty good story line and kept my interest. Some was predictable.

I found both narrators doing a good job of the story.

3.5 Drake Stars

I never know what I'm going to get when I read a Teresa Mummert book. And I like it like that.
She has a unique writing style, her words are easy to digest and absorb, her characters are flawed and messed up and redeemable.

Drake is that redeemable character. You aren't sure if you're going to like him when he first shows up, but when it's all said and done, you do. You may even love him a little.

Gabby is fun, yet serious, beautiful, shy and outspoken. She's quite the contradiction. She's also one of the coolest chicks out there.

And she catches the attention of Hollywood A-lister, Drake.

Yep, it's a fun ride. You better hold on because Teresa throws twists and flips and turns that will have you all over the place.

**I listened to this book. LOVED it. I've gotten to where i typically only choose books by narrators I like and these two make that 'like' list.

Wicked

What did you like best about this story?

Drake was my favorite. Actor, sexy, blunt and all alpha male.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Gabby's speech inflection was sing song like. It was a little annoying but I liked her character with Drake.

SURPRISINGLY MORE TO IT THAN THE AVERAGE QUICKIE

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Entertaining with some fun twists. At the base level, it was “hate turns to love” for Gabi and “she’s so different he falls for her” for Drake, with angst thrown in from his secretive past.

Logan and Lacy did a crack up job. The story is enhanced having both male and female narrators.

Waving One Thumb Up High!

Loved it

In Something Wicked the erotic tension was magnified by a factor of 10 with the duel narrators. Logan McAllister and Lacy Laurel were so believable with their own vulnerabilities that were not quite evident to each other. But when they connected...! Teresa Mummert has a fan and I will be looking for more of her work. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

It was OK

Couldn't quite get into this one. Characters felt flat as did the story. Definitely a quick book and steamy but no real depth.

Guilt, Deceit, Betrayal, Loyalty, Love Changes You

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Gabi wants to be a romance writer, but she is working for an entertainment paper instead...she isn't happy about it and isn't enthusiastic about celebrities.
Drake is an actor, with a very questionable past and is very hard, which he tries to find from those around him, certain he will be rejected.
Gabi and he meet and there is a push and pull between attraction, the desire to be in control and not to be close to anyone on both their parts.
Drake suffers from guilt from his past and as the story goes along his relationship with his cousin Levi who he basically raise, and am
n actress ex-girlfriend.
Gabi doesn't want to be close or to show her emotions and pulls away from Drake.
Their physical attraction becomes to much and there are some hot scenes...things are looking good until Drake is betrayed (not by Gabi) and he still feels he must be loyal. Despite the monster he sees as himself, he really isn't and makes some poor decisions based upon guilt and what he feels is right and best for Gabi.
The narrators were good, not incredible but they didn't detract from the story and in fact were good enough to add to the story
Worth a listen...not the most incredible and I've not decided if I would listen again....probably will...so worth the time....it is a nice length to finish and not have to put down to finish...always a plus.

Great Read

Any additional comments?

Something Wicked was another great book by Teresa Mummert. Teresa Mummert is an amazing author and I love all her books that I've read. Gabby is working at a magazine that she hates with the dreams of being an author. She is set to interview Drake, an actor, at a movie premiere. I loved reading about Gabby being thrown into his world. I recommend everyone read this book. I can't wait to read more by Teresa Mummert.

Great Listen

Something Wicked is hot.

I loved Drake's intensity and wanted more! From the beginning you can tell that he has darkness in him that is just waiting to come out and from the very first moment you see it, the story drags you in and makes you want to find out more about it. His character definitely had flaws which I loved and made him more real.

Gabby isn't the type of person that bowed down to others, and I loved seeing that. She definitely wasn't going to make things easy for Drake either, which Drake was used to from everybody else.

Logan McAllister and Lacy Laurel did a great job narrating this.
