Syrus begins his night in Alphabet City, NYC covering his teammate's shift when he feels the power of the girl he's been searching for since becoming a member of the Inferi Dii. He saves the two humans and takes them home, but his senses alert him to danger. When Gwen's boyfriend is eaten by monsters, she isn't sure who to trust, but Syrus convinces her to follow his lead. Now, she's drawn into a world where gods are real, but the monsters are, too.

If you've been waiting for some of the lesser known deities to be re-imagined, this series is definitely for you!

Holy Moly! This is awesome!

First of all, the story is amazing. The narration is excellent. The way Steven Barnett portrayed Nebuchadnezzar gave me the heebie jeebies.
Cyrus and Gwen are so interesting and the story was very exciting. I definitely recommend this book!

Very unique story, can't wait to read

There are so many things to love about this story. The author does a wonderful job building the world and developing the characters.

I especially liked the way the mystery developed and was resolved. The author also left enough room to develop more stories while still bringing the current story to a close.

So if you are looking for a great romance packed with action, adventure, and some new species, give it a read. It was very light and fun while still having danger and drama. I can't wait to see what come out and see what else S.A. Price has in store for us.

A Wonderful Surprise

I was given this book and wasn't sure what to make of it. However, I was wonderfully surprised at the storyline. The beginning listening was a little rough, but after the first 20 minutes the rest was great. I am actually going to dig and search to see if the next ones are available. Another series added to my ranks.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gwen!!!! She was so accepting once she was informed with what was going on...she had a couple of little freak outs in the beginning...and then a little jealous fit...then she was calm...she took Sy at his word and was wonderful...she is a strong, good woman!

What does Steven Barnett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought he was super good...I liked his narration and was captivated enough to listen all day long!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did...yep...10+ hours...lol

This was new for me... Not the PNR, but Egyptian Gods!! Sy and his friends have been around for ages...they are all in search of their keepers and the magical objects that hold the powers of the Gods they really are! They keep the world safe, and make sure evil doesn't take over. Sy was really in the right place and the right time, and rescued Gwen and her friend from a demon...and Sy feels the spark...he offers them a ride home and they reluctantly take it..Sy is drawn to Gwen and sticks around after he drops her off... He rescues her a second time and it all gets intense from there...She learns the truth, and is oddly accepting... I was impressed...Things get sexy, and things get dangerous...but when its meant to be, its meant to be....and in the end...True Love Conquers All!!

Good Listen, and Great Narration..I am very interested in book 2!!!

couldn't finish

lousy narrative. the dude makes women seem like that stereotypical high pitched whiney chick you knew somewhere and you want to slap the hell out of her and tell her to grow the eff-up. doesn't help author has the dialog MAKING the fmc whiney and annoying. Plot of story had premise, but I couldn't handle narrator.

How do you protect the earth? With the gods of old, of course!

SA Price have done it again! Hot, sexy, powerful - the men of the inferii are nothing short of fantastic. Sirius is the ancient death God of the Egypt pantheon and he had been tasked (with several others) to protect the earth from a dangerous threat. The only catch - limited powers and an unending search for the item and person who would unlocked said lost powers.

The story and lore are amazing. If you like gods, demons, sex, and love. This is your story.

The narrator is amazing!!! His voice is pure sex with every purr and growl. He changes his voice for each character. I am in love with his voice!

Loved this one

I am a sucker for steamy PNR and this listen did not disappoint. Something Darker offers a fresh spin on the genre with an action packed story, a heroine that discovers her strength, Egyptian lore, and of course, a sexy hero worth swooning over. I loved this audiobook!

Amazing Paranormal Romance Story!

This was my first S.A. Price’s book. This won’t be my last! This is the first book in the Inferi Dii Series. I love this story! It was entertaining, intriguing, funny, powerful, action packed and hot! All in one book! I love the two main characters, Syrus and Gwen. They are great together. Gwen is a strong, open mind, funny and sassy woman. Syrus is handsome, funny, powerful and protective. I can’t wait for the second book in the Series! If you like paranormal stories with gods, demons, monsters, sex, intrigue and action packed, this Series is for you. Like I said, all in one! The team author/narrator is pretty good! This was my first listen to Steven Barnett. His narration was perfect for all voices! I absolutely love his voice! I’m looking forward for more books written by this author and narrated by this narrator. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
