Publisher's summary

Known for making up his own rules of right and wrong, Texas Ranger Sam "Wildcard" MacGregor takes what he wants when he wants it, especially when it comes to women. But seduction is the last thing on his mind the moment he stumbles across an Hispanic beauty crouching in fear beside a burned-out wagon. And it doesn't take long before he realizes the woman the townsfolk call "cursed" is hiding secrets too dangerous to face alone.

Isabella may look feminine and unassuming, but she's hell in a bodice with gunslinging skills to match any man's. But though she knows not to give Sam her heart as readily as she offers him her lush body, Isabella is certain she sees in Sam what he can barely glimpse in himself - a virtuous man dropped deep into a hard country bent on breaking him. A man who, under it all, craves a passionate woman willing to risk everything.

Indyreader

Loved this book! The reader is hard to get used to, but if you can get past the raspy voice you will love it.

More from this narrator please!!!!

Would you be willing to try another book from Sarah McCarty? Why or why not?

Yes, I did not care to much for the first installment of this series but this one was a bit better. Jason Adams' narration is what kept me listening though; so if he is the reader, I would definitely listen to another.

What about Jason Adams’s performance did you like?

He has an amazing voice (especially for romance/erotica) and kept a great pace throughout - he could read the yellow pages and it would sound hot!!

Need half stars!

I wanted to give this book 4.5 stars. It just seemed to drag in some places, but overall I really liked it. Wasn't sure about Jason Adams as narrator when he started speaking, but he really did a great job!

Not the best narration, but I loved the story

I had to speed up the narration by 15% because the narrator's drawl was so slow that it was grating. Speeding it up helped, although he wasn't great except that he did a great job with the heroine's lines, which is often hard to do for a man.
With that being said, I loved the story. Sam was great - stoic but generous and protective. Isabella was definitely the best part of the book, though. She was brave, loving, confident, and strong.
The sex scenes were insanely hot.

Sam's Creed a great read...listen?

Great Book! Loved Jason Adams as the narrator. Need him to narrate another hot and steamy book! It would be even better if he could co-narrate with a woman.

Wonderful narration

The deep voice and authentic cowboy draw made it easier for me to see Sam and enjoy every minute. I was disappointed that I couldn't find any more books narrated by him. The story was great, too.

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this one, even more than Caine's Reckoning. The narrator did a great job, his low sultry voice added even more enjoyment. I thought he did Bella's voice very well, it couldn't have been easy since he has such a naturally deep voice. The story behind the romance was very well done. I can't wait until Tucker's Claim is available in audio. I hope Jason Adams narrates that one too. I'm anxious to see how the author handles the rest of the story.

Good, but missing the connection to book one.

This was an enjoyable listen, however, other then an interaction with Tucker, there is little connection to book one. I would have heard a few interactions with the characters in book one. With that being said, it was good story. It just didn’t seem like it was part of a series.

Yahoo Texas Ranger

Would you listen to Sam's Creed again? Why?

I will listen to this book again, the story was good it does make you love some Texas Rangers.

What did you like best about this story?

Sam is what we want in a lone Texas Ranger to be, big, strong and even tempered. I liked that there were a number of fights and challenges along the characters travels. Bella was just handful enough to deal with this member of Hell's Eight.

What about Jason Adams’s performance did you like?

Jason is the "voice" of the Rangers now for me deep, slow and dangerous. He had just enough emotion in his performance to keep you listening.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

"Hell's Eight - Texas Rangers - PLEASE!!!!"

Any additional comments?

It will take you a little while to get use to the narrators female voices, but his voice for Sam and the other male characters will make up for it. It's action packed from the start.

Just OK

This book was not as good as the first in the series (Caine's Reckoning), but it was nice to have a continuation of the original story. I would have enjoyed having more interaction with the rest of the Hell's Eight gang -- it would have made the story less one dimensional. Also, I found the character of Isabella to be lacking in depth and just a little spoiled. The character of Sam was very appealing, and the narrator did an excellent job with his voice! However, the narrator's portrayal of Isabella's voice was just off putting, and may have contributed to why I didn't like her.

If you liked Caine's Reckoning, Sam's Creed is worth a listen, if only to keep you up to date with how the story is progressing. I hope the next story expands around more than just Tucker and his love interest.
