Publisher's summary

She's one of the few....

Jazz has been one of the guys for over a decade, serving her country with distinction, but she longs to explore her femininity, to be desired as a woman, to flirt, cavort, and fulfill every sexual desire. When her mother, of all people, signs her up for a one-night stand, she's not sure whether to be exhilarated or pissed. Flying to Las Vegas on the promise of a total escape, Jazz plans to be Jasmine for just one night, because tomorrow she plans to re-up for another five years.

They're two of the proud....

Logan Cavanaugh grew up across the street from his best friend and brother-in-arms, Zach Evans. Inseparable, the two have shared everything, including women, until the year before when an IED attack during combat injured both of them. Zach suffered a concussion, but Logan's injuries were far more extensive. After a year of physical therapy, he can walk, but he'll never run or love a woman again, or so he fears. He's ready to accept his impotence, but Zach has other ideas. He hopes a one-night stand date with the perfect woman will heal Logan's confidence and masculinity.

They're all Marines....

They'll share each other, but will one night be enough?

Great menage story from Ms. Long

If you could sum up Retreat Hell! She Just Got Here in three words, what would they be?

Semper fi thrice :-)

Who was your favorite character and why?

That's hard - all three were so likable. I really liked Jazz - she was one of the guys for so long as a Marine and wanted to explore being a woman so badly. Her transformation was very fun to listen to :-).

What about Christine Padovan’s performance did you like?

Her alto tones are so pleasant to listen to. I enjoy how she voices male characters and makes them so real.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt bad for Logan, thinking he may not be able to overcome his injuries to be with a woman. But definitely, I was grinning with the end results :-).

Any additional comments?

Love Ms. Long's ability to give her characters such depth in only a short story format!

Narrator deserves zero stars

I really want to read this story and in order to do so, I had to hear this narrator. I have heard many awful readers like Roy Wells--who is an old man reading young parts, Annie Chapman--who reads flatly when she does male voices, and others. I have NEVER had the DISpleasure of listening to a book where I can't hear the story because the narration is so bad. Christine Padovan stops in odd places, lilts in the wrong areas and fails as a good male narrator. It is so bad that I could not UNDERSTAND the story because the narrator was so awful. I only got 15 minutes into the story before I had to stop. I always finish a book--it's sacrilege not to in my family. Yet, here I am not able to fast forward or listen. DO NOT GET THIS BOOK! Buy the print version like I will.

Good Premise-Bad Execution

Narrator ruins it. The story was a good idea, had a good premise. But the narrator sings her words, so that she draws them out unnecessarily, which detracts from any degree of sexiness. And sexiness is important for erotica to be considered good. Plus I wouldn't want to hear this narrator read anything. The singing, drawing out of words is distracting and irritating regardless of the genre she reads. The level of erotica is mild. So altogether, just very mediocre overall. Finally, unfortunately, there were a few corny lines. So....buyer beware.

Not good

Narrator voice sound robotic. Storyline was okay, but I lost interest in the start of the story.
