Publisher's summary

My cock has an appetite. A huge and very particular appetite: blond, curvy, and preferably not a f--king liar... (Although that's a story for another day.) As a high-profile lawyer, I don't have time to waste on relationships, so I fulfill my needs by anonymously chatting and sleeping with women I meet online. My rules are simple: one dinner. One night. No repeats. This is only casual sex. Nothing more. Nothing less. At least it was until Alyssa...

She was supposed to be a 27-year-old lawyer, a book hoarder, and completely unattractive. She was supposed to be someone I shared law advice with late at night, someone I could trust with details of my weekly escapades. But then she came into my firm for an interview--a college-intern interview--and everything f--king changed....

FOR HER HE BROKE HIS OWN RULE 'NO REPEATS'

Well if you're like me an you love a brooding badass alpha Hero then you're going to love Andrew. Not only is he all that but he has a dirty mouth, a 'one dinner, one night and no repeats' policy and a heart as cold as ice..... but as the chapters slowly and deliciously unfold, his heart is slowly brought back to life by Aubrey. He tries everything he can not to feel, not to care and not to love again because of the scars left on his broken heart caused by events in his heartbreaking and tragic past.

It wasn't the snappy dialogue, the hot sex scenes or the great narration that pulled me in, no..... it was Andrew..... I wanted him to feel again, to find happiness and for his once happy heart to find peace, joy and to finally beat again after six years of being dead. But Aubrey, the only woman that stood a chance of doing it, was constantly being pushed out of his bed and shown the door.

Worth a credit? I devoured and savoured every word.... the cold and bitter words, the harsh words that were meant to push feelings away, the sexy dominant lovers words and the pleading heartfelt words of need and love that eventually changed everything. So YES another well-written, enjoyable, entertaining and creditworthy listen that, thankfully, has no cliffhanger endings.

Overall Grr

I enjoyed the voice of the female narrator. The sex scenes were relatively well written and frequent but Dear God were the main characters disfunctional and annoying. Verbal and emotional abuse and codepedancy does not a romance make. If I wanted that I'd read a different genre. I like characters with quirks but these two were just unpalitable.

It started well...

BUT, there is always a but haha. This is the first time I have ever written a review for a book, I felt compelled to write a review because I grew increasingly irritated as the book went on. Honestly the first few chapters were great, they really drew me in and I loved anticipating how it was going to unfold. However as soon as the characters met things completely changed. Alyssa seemed like a spunky, witty girl. The kind that could hold her own. Aubrey however is a whiny entitled woman-child. Every line sounds like she is going to start crying, and actually does, I couldn't keep track of how many times she cried in this book. Andrews alter ego Thoreau doesn't seem to change his personality much. No, where Andrews inconsistency lies is when he goes from being a complete asshole to.. stalker asshole? "I HATE YOU! so i'm going to follow you to your house and eat you out." uhh what?!
The next biggest irritation was the dialogue. The conversations were just so completely unrealistic. I am not asking for much here but can you please make it just slightly plausible? and can we all just take a second to laugh about a 'curvy' ballerina? hahaha

With all that said the narration wasn't bad and the sexy times were entertaining. If you can get this book on sale, go for it. Other then that I wouldn't say its worth a credit.

Steamy, sexy and dirty

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes, it's a good listen

Any additional comments?

It has been awhile I enjoyed a good read. This book is different in a sense that both the heroine and hero had strong personalities. They know what they want and go for it. I love the chemistry, the easy banters and steamy sex scene. Furthermore, I love Andrew's dirty mouth and I love Audrey strong will. This book is worth a read

Great Dark hero but the heroine was lacking for me

Any additional comments?

I actually enjoyed the book more then I thought I would... the narration was fabulous and that added to the enjoyment a lot! The beginning of the story reminded me a lot of Beautiful Bastard which was a big A+ for me... So I really got into it and was totally excited! However...:0( by the middle of the story I started to get a little annoyed with the heroine... I mean come on at the beginning she was strong gave it as good as she got it but by the middle she almost turned into a doormat! No! No! No! I started to really fear for the novel but luckily she did get her backbone in the end. Yet still the book lost some of it's momentum for me. Would I recommend it? Sure. I have never read anything by this author before and would not mind giving another one of her books a try.

I SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS BOOK!

I seriously loved this book. It was a lot like Tangled by Emma Chase but the difference for me is that Andrew wasn't a jerk just because he was a guy and could be, he was a victim of the past. I do love the male POV books since they are few and far between. I liked how honest Andrew was, he did lie by omission but he always told the truth about what he said & wanted (mostly lol). Aubrey knew from the beginning what he was like (because they were friends) but she also loved to push him past his comfort zones and knew he needed the push. The sexy scenes were SUPER HOT, if you like a dominate dirty mouth man you will love this! Also, there were a few tears too ;)

The narration was FABULOUS! I always go for Sebastian York but Erin Mallon is a very exciting discovery! I am now searching for other work by her! If you haven't listened to this audiobook I HIGHLY suggest you do!

I give the narration 10 stars!

Slightly disturbing... (Some slight spoilers)

So, I still haven't finished this book, but I want to express my current thoughts. The narration is excellent, as it usually is with Sebastian and Erin. However, this book became rather upsetting in the early chapters. While Andrew is supposed to be a somewhat sympathetic character, having been hurt in the past, his behavior so far is still pretty abhorrent. He is unforgiving and emotionally abusive, and his sexual advances on Aubrey had a certain rape-y tinge to them that made the steamier scenes very hard to enjoy. I'm sure there are readers out there who appreciate this sort of emotionally intense/hostile relationship between characters, but I found it really upsetting. Perhaps the relationship improves later in the book, but I won't find out because I don't plan on finishing it. Emotional abuse and manipulation isn't my thing. Sorry, Whitney.

Great book!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Andrew hands down. He had me laughing out loud and also crying my heart out. This book is one the best. I loved his sense of humor, bluntness and just plain raw, no nonsense personality.

What about Sebastian York and Erin Mallon ’s performance did you like?

They brought life to the characters. I felt like I knew Andrew and Aubrey through their delivery of the written word.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! I couldn't put it down. Love the concept of having 3 books in one. The flash backs in time and then bounce to present day kept the book engaging.

Female Narrator ... Ugh!

Female narrator ruins this one! Great story and I always love Sebastian...but the female narrator is awful. I couldn't take the constant loud breath she had to take after everything she said.
