When Cassie Douglas unknowingly arrives at a sultry tropical island resort where the sole business is to provide the perfect pleasure fantasy, Cassie finds it difficult to overcome her inhibitions and join in the fun. When she meets the sexy resort owner, Cassie must decide what is real when it comes to matters of the heart.
Ryan MacKenna isn't about to let the feisty red-head disrupt his life or his business. He lives firmly by his set of self-imposed rules which keep business and pleasure very separate. But from the first moment he meets Ms. Douglas, he is in danger of breaking every rule.
Would you listen to Pleasure Island again? Why?
I don't know that I would listen to this story again because, while I like the story, the narrator didn't have enough differentiation in her voice when she was reading the different characters. She didn't do a bad job, by any means.
What did you like best about this story?
The chemistry between Cassie and Ryan is wonderful and I LOVE Cassie's interactions with Raphael.
What does Elizabeth Powers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I honestly don't know.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Any additional comments?
I've really been spoiled by Susan Ericksen so she's my gold standard when I rate other narrators/readers. Elizabeth Powers did do a good job. I would just suggest she try to differentiate her characters a little better.
Where is the island? I have my suitcase packed
Elizabeth Powers great as always. Listening to it again
