Publisher's Summary

Skye Summers beat the odds. Professionally her life's a success - every day, she cures the sick and heals the wounded. Personally? Her life couldn't be more of a mess. She's tired of putting up with arrogant men who think nothing of ripping out her heart. She's taking a break. No more dating. No more relationships. No more men.

Ash Dean has it all: fame, fortune, and the adoration of screaming fans. But the constant parties and an endless string of one-night stands are taking their toll. He's tired of superficial women who care only about sleeping with a rock star. He's taking a break. No more flings. No more empty hook ups. He's looking for something real.

When sparks ignite between him and a sassy doctor during a chance encounter, he's intrigued. When she has no idea who he is, he's fascinated. When she runs after a little innocent flirting, he's determined to pursue. He's arrogant enough to go after what he wants, and something tells him she might be worth the chase.

prepare to be shredded and put back together

Ellie Masters delivers a story that had me running the gamut of emotions. I laughed, was brought to tears, and had to control a near overwhelming rage and the need to cause severe bodily injury. Skye's traumatic childhood and resulting issues as an adult are not easy to endure and if you are expecting a fluffy romance I give fair warning this isn't it. However, the dedication of Ash stole my heart and had me painting him on a white horse with a hot as hell rocker attitude. This is a must for a personal library. Amanda Stribling was spectacular!

Just lovely

I really enjoyed listening to this book, but you should be warned that it includes some disturbing content. Two of the main characters were badly abused as children, this comes up several times as well as child prostitution and abuse in general. If you can handle that then this book will not disappoint.

This is not a typical rock star romance where the lead characters fall into bed on page 10, but they do start a relationship very quickly. In this story the connection took front seat as well as dealing with trauma from past experiences. I thought that this created a much more interesting story with complexity and depth.

The writing is really well done, very vivid, it drew me in and held my attention captive. The characters are beautifully constructed, it's clear that a lot of work went into making them realistic.

I really didn't like Skye at first, she's a bit of a doormat for her fiance/ex at the start. It makes sense once her history is revealed so stick with it. I thought about giving up at this point and I'm really glad I didn't.

The narrator did a great job with the character voices, tone and pacing. It was lovely to listen to.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Love a good rock star

As long as you are ok with Insta love you will love this story. I enjoy a good rocker book and this one did not disappoint in that area either. I enjoyed the unpredictable twists.

Both Skye and Ash are so broken but have such big hearts. It was great to see them come together and break down the walls.

Lots of Layers

The story definitely piqued my interest from the beginning. There was definitely a lot of twists and turns I didn't know how Ellie was going to pull it all together. I was pleasantly surprised at how well she pulled it off. This was my first Amanda Stribling narration and she is great! I would not hesitate to listen to her other works.

I look forward to the next book in the series.

What a Good Book!

I really enjoyed this story. I'm not usually a fan of insta-love but in this case it was kind of one sided and I enjoyed that very much. A few times it seemed like the story might start to veer off course into the same old plot devices used in so many other stories but I am happy to say that the author safely navigated her way out of them and handled them the way most readers wish everyone would handle them. our heroine may have her screwed up past but she doesn't let it define her. I love that. Her friendship with Bean is awesome as well. I really liked this story. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Heart's Insanity is the perfect title

In the beginning of this audible, I found myself screaming at Sky to get away from her fiancé! What a pig! With that said, I do understand her mind thought given her past.

I laughed and cheered for Ash and Sky. I want more!
This was my first Ellie Masters, not my last. Amanda Stribling was just ok.
