Publisher's summary

Brad "Frat Boy" Feller and Sebastian "Toppy" DeWitt have been together for nine months, and their relationship is as hot as ever. The only cloud Brad sees on their horizon is Sebastian's stress over his thesis. And their uncertain future together after graduation. And how Sebastian sometimes takes Brad for granted. And Sebastian's unwillingness to introduce Brad to his father.

Other than that, everything's awesome.

All of Sebastian's energy is currently devoted to his thesis, and getting into a top-notch PhD program. Fortunately, his boyfriend takes care of all the domestic stuff and Sebastian's needs. Any minor strain between them will disappear and they'll return to the status quo after Sebastian graduates. As long as nothing upsets their delicate balance in the meantime.

Then a friend Brad once had a small fling with is forced to take refuge with them, and Frat Boy and Toppy's delicate balance topples like an elephant on a waterski. Now Sebastian has to face some truths about how he's been treating Brad, what he wants for their future, and what he has to do to get it.

Great Follow-Up Story For Frat Boy & Toppy

If you could sum up Good Boy in three words, what would they be?

Thoughtful
Hot
Relationships

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that this pair communicated and did pretty well considering they are opposites and cover some tough ground when it comes to openness and trust.

What does Nick J. Russo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Well, I've read the book first and then listened so I can say with a little authority that he brings these characters to life. I saw aspects of their personalities that didn't jump of the page at me until I was listening to his narration.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A heated follow-up that explores what comes after the happily ever after for a young pair of lovers.

Any additional comments?

This is the fourth book in the TAG series and works best in order.

Nice F/U of The Fratboy and The Toppy!

The only criticism I have is it's length! I enjoyed a look into the relationship that Sebastian and Bradley have built. I like how they were able to figure out what was missing and have an adult conversation to adjust accordingly. It makes me think that if people in committed relationships were able to do this regularly maybe there wouldn't be so many breakups/divorce. Nick J Russo...as always his performance is able to put me in "subspace". 4 stars - I probably won't listen again.

Sexy sequel!

This is absolutely a must read if you enjoyed book one : Frat boy and Toppy. (I almost missed this entire series because the names bothered me so much. Between the TAG theme and the silly names of the books… but I read them and loved them – so ignore the silliness and jump in!) Sebastian is super focused on school and he’s being a big jerk to Brad. Brad is just insecure enough to not know how to handle it and to think he, himself, is to blame. Fortunately, Brad is secure enough, however, to let it be known that he won’t be pushed around and ignored just because Sebastian’s an oblivious snob!

In second books, where the couple is already established, you know this is going to be about them “ironing things out”. So, brace yourself for our happy couple to get really unhappy for awhile. However, on the other side of this is that when they figure stuff out, they feel way more solid than they did originally.

Now, for me, the D/s thing – even in this “lite” form – isn’t really my cup of tea, however, the author does a great job of showing just why Brad craves it and how it can be something the couple shares that makes them stronger, for the use of it.

Audio

Gah – I just LOVE Nick. I say that every time, but it’s so true. He’s just so easy to listen to, adds just enough personality to make the characters feel “real” without feeling like he’s trying too hard. He understands the importance of pacing and voice quality and seems to really have a good sense of emotions. I think that if he’s narrating it, you should probably just buy it – he’ll make you like it – even if the story isn’t your favorite! Highly Recommended.

We get to re-visit Sebastian and Brad!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I sure would, I really enjoy listening to this series. I think the author's style of writing is fantastic and the narration is amazing, the perfect marriage.

What other book might you compare Good Boy to and why?

Moments in time series by Karen Stivali. Similar characters and storylines, both set in College.

Which character – as performed by Nick J. Russo – was your favorite?

Brad, oh how I love Brad. He's this conundrum of a character, the strong, cocky, self assured jock but when it comes to the man he loves, he's like a newborn baby. Unsure and skittish at times.

Who was the most memorable character of Good Boy and why?

See above.

Any additional comments?

I love when an Author re-visits characters I've read months or years down the road, sort of a follow up. Brad and Sebastian already went through a lot to be together, but as with a relationship in real life, it takes work. Life is getting in the way and it's upset Brad's equalibrium and he needs his partner to man-handle him and ensure that they are okay.

A delicious little snack in addition to the other books in this series... short, sexy and steamy.

Loved being able to revisit this couple

This was a short story and I was ok with that. It was a great way to revisit Brad and Sebastian. There is drama and resolution and sexy times to be had. Narration was great as always. It is good to see what happens with a couple as they evolve with routine and life in general. It was nice to see Brad figuring out what he wants and needs from Sebastian.

Hmmm

Not really sure if this work better in a series. But as a stand-alone you feel drooped into something that don’t really make sense.

Great narrator did a very enjoyable read.

Another "Meh"

Cute, but hardly worth the time. A little more insight into the dynamics between Brad and Sebastian, but nothing truly earth shattering. The epilogue was probably the most insightful and interesting part for me.
