I LOVED this story. I had never heard or read anything by R.J. Castille. I was not disappointed in this story at all. I didn't really care for the narrator. I should tell she is a Canadian because of her pronunciation of certain words and it threw me off the story for a bit.
The storyline was different from anything I have/had heard or read. I loved the strong female character. I loved the hero in this story and how you don't know it's him till later in the book. I can't wait to hear the sequel!
The main character in this story to me is doing a balancing act. She's doing the life that is expected of her during the day, while simultaneously finding herself at night.
Ms King saw herself as a goddess because that is what they called her when she played. When she went to work her boss Mr. Roth made her feel like a small person. She was taught by a master and he was a very good teacher. This was her way to escape reality. Matthew was her pet and she took out her frustration out on him. Then she got a chance to get back at her boss. The narrator was good.
