sultry voice

very sexy voice, the narrator kept me on the edge of my seat.

the audio did have some issues. sometimes it would cut out or repeat segments. it got kind of annoying by the end.

most of the story was a set up for the final scene which was super hot. but there isn't a lot of action until the last 10 or so minutes.

For me it was totally worth the buy.

A hot SM storyline, read by a great narrator!

Several found this to be less than sexy or not "porn" enough. Remember that SM and D/s are exclusive to the participants' minds and imaginations. Technically, SM doesn't require penetration, and neither does D/s, but this is the embodiment of both with penetration. It was well done, speaking as someone who has been into this for almost 30 years.

M.J. Panios was fantastic at portraying the youthful central character and the hot "Daddy."

D.C. James undoubtedly has a background in this realm of play, and he captures it too easy not to have that background. Most authors that attempt this type of sexy scene lack the finite details to pull it off for those of us that have been in the scene. Great work!

Goodness

I loved it, the narrator has a whiskey toned voice and the context of the story very exciting

Bigger on Creepy Story, Smaller on Erotica

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Hard core brutal sadists who like a LOT of back story?

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Interesting? The mindset, which was also the most disturbing.Least Interesting? The lack of sex. There was really only 1 sex scene that didn't happen until the end of the book. That scene was pretty much about inflicting brutal pain on the boy & less about foreplay or sex or pleasure.

What aspect of M. J. Panios’s performance would you have changed?

I found his voice annoying.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It was a well written, thought out & cohesive story. Much better than "An Offering of Flesh"

Any additional comments?

The premise is creepy - older man adopts abused young boy so he can raise him to become (upon reaching his majority) his abused sex slave. "Warning!: This story contains graphic sexual acts between a father and his nineteen year old adopted son which includes choking, anal sex and themes of dominance and submission."Based on the above quoted description I was expecting an erotic story w/rough sex, that was primarily about the sex, set upon a skeletal story framework. I wasn't expecting the entire first half of the book to be an in-depth psychological study of the relationship between the 2 during the 3 years the 2 live together as 'father & son.' It made it seem too real & therefore too sick.I expected a primarily erotic sex story which includes rough sex but you know all along it's a fantasy so there's a 'suspension of disbelief' factor. The one & only sex scene wasn't until after 20 minutes in on a 40 minute book. It ws only 1 scene & ended on a cliff hanger, setting the boy up for punishment that you expected to be a continuing part of the story but it just ended there without finishing.I could've lived with all the 'story' if the sex had been a more substantial part of the story. And if there had been more than just 1 scene. It seemed like it ended just as it started to get going. It felt like a really long build up that never finished delivering.Maybe I'm being too harsh but when I buy erotica I want there to be more than 1 sex scene & for it to be closer to 75% raise my temperature sex. The warning shouldn't get me hotter than the actual story!

Hot!!!

Where does Getting to Know Daddy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

top, so far. Great little short story worth hearing over and over again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The character narrating the story from his point of view: how he ended up with the other character and then, under him.

Have you listened to any of M. J. Panios’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Never. Great voice, very masculine and good talent to prep up scenes with just a change of the tone. Not stereotypical high pitch lapses, just one normal voice that anyone could relate to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me react in very satisfactory ways, over and over again.

Any additional comments?

Short story but one great narration from start to finish. The talent of the voice actor made you be both part of the scene and observer.

age appropriate voice

I liked it mostly .....but for the s and m stuff. prefer more gentle normal loving stories...yet it was sensitive in it's toughness and made for a well written short prose.
