Wendy Dennison is tired of being a starving author. The royalties from her critically acclaimed romance novels barely pay her bills. Her devoted agent, Daniel Rochester, may be smart and sexy, but he can't get her the sales she needs. Then, a charismatic stranger appears at her coffee shop table, promising her fame and commercial success, as well as the chance to live out her dreams of erotic submission. But at what cost?
Nothing you can't afford to lose, my dear.
Seduced by the enigmatic Mister B, she signs his infernal contract. He becomes both her master and her coach, managing her suddenly flourishing career as well as encouraging her lusts. Under her mentor’s nefarious influence, she surrenders to temptation and has sex with Daniel. The casual encounter turns serious when she discovers her mild-mannered agent has a dominant side. As the clock ticks down to her blockbuster release and Mister B prepares to claim her soul, Wendy must choose either celebrity and wealth, or obscurity and true love.
What a great story! The combination of BDSM, love and humor was great! I liked how the entire story developed and just as you thought Wendy was going to be miserable forever it changes! This was better than 50 shades. 😊
Damned If You Do: A BDSM Dance With The Devil
by Lisabet Sarai
Wow. Five minutes in, I was already smiling because the situation was so recognizable, being an author myself. That smile returned many times throughout listening to the audiobook version of this story. It was so well written.
'Damned if you do' is about Wendy Dennison, a struggling author who gets the deal of her life: all the success she has ever dreamed of in exchange for her soul. The handsome demon who offers her the deal certainly keeps up his end of the deal, and soon the money is pouring in. But is this what she wanted? Does having all the money and success satisfy all that she craved?
I cannot answer these questions without giving away too much of the story, and that would be a shame because it really is a perfect story. The writing is intelligent, witty, captivating and believable, even in this setting. The ending too is believable and everything I could have wished for.
The narrator Audrey Lusk is amazing, the best I've ever heard. Every character had his own voice, and even the male characters were so believable. And she even dared to moan at the appropriate times, something I often miss with other narrators.
This is definitely a 5* book. I was sorry it was over so soon, though the ending was perfect for the story. All I can do is listen to it again and recommend this book to everyone. It doesn't matter if you've listened to paranormal erotica before or not, just listen to this one. I promise you'll love it.
This book takes you through the stuggle of Wendy's adult life through her journey as an author until she finds herself through sexual exploration.
An author made a deal with the devil so she could be a famous writer. She got more than she bargained for. A great listen and the narrator did a super job.
