His rough touch makes her lose control... Rough Riders, Book 12. In Sundance, Wyoming, you can't throw a boot without hitting a McKay cowboy, so Ben McKay is used to fading into the background. Except on weekends, when he's Bennett, imposing Dom at The Rawhide Club, surrounded by a bevy of female subs eager for the attention of his long... whip. As for the curvy brunette eying him from across the room? He'll eat his Stetson if she's the experienced Domme she claims to be. Bennett offers her a deal - he'll let her call the shots for one night. But the next night he gets to prove to her how freeing it'll be when he takes the reins. Ainsley Hamilton is amazed by how well Bennett read her every secret yearning during that one explosive weekend - and she's stunned when they come face to face in their everyday lives as rancher and new bank president. Now Ben's urging her to explore her submissive side outside the club, and there's something in his commanding gaze that makes it too easy to let him take control - of her desires and her pleasure.
Can Ben help Ainsley overcome her fear that a relationship built on dark sexual appetites won't survive the light of day? Warning: Strap in, another hot McKay is about to bust out of the gate, and this bull rider knows a thing or two about riding hard...

.
I am such a fan of the Roughriders series by Lorelei James. Getting to know the McKay family and all of their ups and downs keeps it interesting and the series is phenomenal-if you are into naughty, sexy books.
LJ usually has a plot that loosely keeps the descriptions of sex part of the story. This one was not a favorite because it was completely BDSM and there was little to no plot. What little there was came at the very end.
I don't mind the dominant/submissive roles in any of her other books, however in this one the main character (Bennett/Ben) was a jerk and he offered a little redemption in the end. Ainsley was a significant businesswoman in the community but wanted to be dominated at night. That is all well and good but there just was not anything else, as I mentioned, until near the end.
Not my favorite Rough Riders and I probably won't bother to listen to this again as I go through the series. I really like most of the series.
Notes: Mature themes & strong language - not for the under 17 age crowd
Creditworthy/$: I say yes on either account because I am invested in the series. If you are Lorelei James and her fantastic series. I would say pass on this unless you are completely invested, like me.

I'm not crazy about the dom and sub world, but I liked the interaction between Ainslie and Ben as a regular couple. Their relationship problems just had more sharp edges than most. I liked how Ben made his life less complicated to include Ainsly.
Rough Riders is one of my original purchases in audio books. I love Lorelie James' books and the audio does not disappoint! Rebecca Estrella is also a go to narrator for me and I love that she does all the Rough Riders. My hubby loves when I listen to Lorelie and Rebecca, too!
This series has been a joy; this installment is another notch in Lorelei James' successful erotic romance series. In all honesty the storylines are similar once you get into double digits of a series, that's a given, but, I love these rough riding cowboys, the McKay family dynamic and the good ole country loving!
I love this series. books are well written and keeps you interested throughout. I am hooked on her books
In Cowboy Casanova, I was outraged to find BDSM was promoted as a safe and sane lifestyle for mentally stable men & women. In reality, it's a Nazi-like cult that promotes the belief that men have the right to beat, rape, humiliate and degrade women for sexual thrills.
Somehow these sadist men find pathetic wimpy women with no self respect who agree to be abused in return for scraps of male attention. In this book, Ben McKay is supposed to be a nice, normal cowboy who can only get sexually excited when causing women physical pain,
It's sad and dangerous when something as wonderful and natural as sex is distorted into a brutal game of control and humiliation. Cowboy Cassanova is not a romantic or erotic story, unless sexual assault and physical abuse is now considered sexy.
It's particularly disturbing that this book is written by a woman, attempting to persuade other woman that they deserve to be treated as a sex slaves, not human beings with brains and feelings. I found her promoting of sexual violence for profit totally disgusting!
There are enough men who already think that it's acceptable to batter, assault, and abuse women and children. Now we have novels like this that promote sexual violence by brainwashing weak minded people into self destructive behavior.
Real men don't enjoy hurting and humiliating anyone. Men with violent sexual fantasies need serious therapy, not permission to abuse & degrade other human beings. Violent men will not stop at abusing a willing victim but are a danger to women & children everywhere.
