Publisher's summary

It all began with a laugh. In 1968, as chemistry major Joe Holly headed to class, it was the sound of Kate Taylor’s laugh that caused him to fall for her, even before he glimpsed her face. And once he found her, he knew he would do anything to get her, and later, everything to keep her.

Based on an award-winning short story, this re-imagined third edition of Erasing the Past travels back and forth in time between the first days of their courtship to their lives together 30 years later. When Kate announces that she wants cosmetic surgery, Joe’s world unravels. As the chief chemist for a cosmetics company, Joe attempts to create an age-defying cream with the synthetic blend of a fruit from a tree found in Africa. His concept could transform a science fiction dream into reality: Erase time from Kate’s face. But this fountain of youth comes with a cost.

Set against the backdrop of medical and technological advancement as well as corporate politics, Erasing the Past is a novel about love, betrayal, ambition, illusion, and second chances.

Beautifully narrated

I loved the narration from Brian McGovern which works so well with this novel from the author Geri Dreiling. The details and relationships between the two main characters are so well described that one slightly suspects it shares some real experiences from the author. Yet, the time-travel element clearly can’t be based on real-life, so I applaud the author for her imagination and creativity. I find it hard to believe this is her first novel. Good narration. Good book. A joy to listen to.

Fans of The Time Traveler’s Wife will love this

If you loved the Best Selling novel The Time Traveler’s Wife, then you are sure to enjoy Erasing the Past. It has that current popular theme of romance over different time periods, mixing a touch of science fantasy with pure romance.
What did I like most about this audio book? You guessed it - the love story which I found enchanting. The two protagonists were destined for each other, despite their challenges.

Highly promising with great character development

The story centres around the main characters of Joe and Kate, and their relationship over many years as the author draws the reader into the past and present. This in itself works well, but what drew me into the story was the character development so well drawn out by the author Dreiling. Well written and executed, I look forward to more novels from the author.
