  • Summary

  • The 2008 Meltdown was a pivotal moment in modern history, as harmful to America as the Moon Landing was inspirational. But the government responded in a much different way than President Franklin D. Roosevelt responded to the Great Depression - and here’s why that failed response was even more disastrous than the crisis itself.

Fascinating Point of View

Obviously, one’s beliefs matter when listening to this.
I enjoyed information about class proximity loyalty rather than pointing fingers.
That said, what isn’t said is that legislative payoffs i.e. contributions matter. Big money talks loudest.
Yes, perhaps legislators or their staff may be inept. Democrats got what they deserved. Republicans got what they wanted. Citizens got hammered.

The Curtain is pulled back

David Sirota's incisive and persistent investigation and reporting shed new light on the crisis and puts it all in the context of a general failure of government and both political parties to stand up to the corporate interests that stand in the way of just about everything substantive. Nothing has really changed. Look at today's petty squabbles over helping the "people".

This series outlines the true legacy of Obama

Series outlines the real legacy of the Obama brand. The greatest disappointment and missed opportunity of our time.

Anti-Trump

I only got about about 20 minutes into the first episode but I can tell you it is Anti-Trump and the liberal/leftist crowd should love it.

Slanted Democrat Point of View!

I suffered through this period. We lost all of our retirement.

I really wanted to learn more about the Financial crisis, not what the Republicans (in the author's opinion) did wrong!
Why couldn't he just give the facts instead of making Democrats-vs-Repulicans statement?

Because of this, I did not even finish the First Episode.

I am very disappointed in Audible for allowing this platform.

Terrible

Couldn't even get thru the first episode. Political biased garbage. Great topic ruined with overtly leftist junk. At least try and appeal to a general audience. Seriously!!!!! Thumbs 👎👎👎👎

Crazy that this is put forward insightful news

Wildly unbalanced view of the financial meltdown and resulting government actions. Ideas that have been discredited presented as first-person facts and way off the mark assumptions presented as de-facto truth. I love the topic and was looking forward to another balanced view, but this is nothing but political trash talking disguised as insightful news. Very disappointing Audible.
