A Mother's Wicked Web

Glad the author could share her story. The should have been a Mother's Wicked Web! It a typical story of a mother's indiscretions catch up later in life when child finds out who she thought was her father wasn't her father and the mother knew it the entire time.

An entertaining and emotional piece

How can you really review this?! it is a strong story of self discovery that definitely should be listened to by people in similar situations. It gives the human aspect of parenting with secrets and how those secrets can be painful for both the parent and people resulting from it. Good to see the presenter finds strength in her journey and putting this together.

Beautiful story about accepting oneself

A deeply emotional look at the pain of not knowing where you come from. Knowing innately that you are different and learning how to make sense of the sins of the father... or mother.

Got Me Thinking

I did not like that there was not a “final” resolution but the story was extremely interesting. It’s perfect for those who like to be involved in others lives.

Interesting Topic

While I am not personally involved with this issue (as far as I know!), I did find the subject matter quite interesting and definitely food for thought. I am happy that Ms. Lawton was able to get some answers regarding her true identity and thus find some peace. It did get me thinking about how many of us may indeed have hidden relatives out there that we know nothing about. Personally, I look so much like both my parents there is no question as to where I came from! Nonetheless, it is an intriguing idea of getting a DNA profile to see what, if any, hidden blood lines may be lurking as a result of some distant hanky panky or what have you! While I do not have, or have ever had, any angst regarding my heritage, for me it might simply be fun to see what turns up! Well done podcast!

great story

i liked how she eneded the book with focusing on her non biological dad and finding peace about her story, we should all learn how to talk about our feelings and not hide shame!

Insightful

Very insightful to something many people deal with. It certainly left me wondering if she ever finds her birth dad.

Fascinating and emotional

The story of Georgina and so many others who discover their uncertain parentage through DNA testing is a fascinating look at how we view ourselves and others. May we all, someday, be wise enough to realize we are all wonderful in our individuality and to know we ALL belong to one another. Thank you so much to all who shared their stories here and are willing to advance this conversation.
