[Contains explicit content] It's called the Dark Web, Dark Net or Deep Web but what is it? What makes this internet underground — rife with drugs, sex, and crime — possible? How do you even access the Dark Web?

Geoff White, Channel 4 News's former Technology Reporter, has been looking into its shady origins and reveals why the U.S. Navy invented it in the first place.

Great Material, yet a little Cheesy

I was impressed with the interviews and material being presented in this series of lectures on the Dark Web but it grossly misuses scary music and sound effects in the background to instill some cheap sense of fear or creepiness. Just give us the facts man, especially when they play sounds of children in the background, it made it scary but didn't lend any legitimacy to the material, which as far as I know was legitimate but I don't want cheap fear mongering, I want to learn.

Wow! Yikes!

This is a somewhat of repeat of a review I posted on the last in the series with a bit of some changes.

Not sure what the "1-star trolls" have in issue with this but maybe they're "dark-webbers" not liking the new light being brought on all the nefarious activities going on through this medium. The series is absorbing, intriguing, it holds your attention, very well done that way.

There is a growing cancer on the internet that needs some serious, very bright minds to find a cure. It would have been quite helpful for the authors, and the series if the FBI, CIA, NSA type organizations had granted interviews, however there's a wealth of information here just the same.

How to stop this? I just read an article that North Korean hackers stole 68+ million out of an Indian bank, along with multiple other similar horrors. However this could be stopped, and that's not fully worked out yet; creating a series like this to heighten public awareness is an important step. So thank you to the authors!

Extreme amounts of research are evident.

The series goes into great detail and clearly is the result of several thorough investigations. Knowledge is built from the ground up and should be understandable regardless of technical knowledge.

There are some very balanced discussions with perspectives from both sides and there are a lot of experts involved which only further adds kudos and knowledge to the series.

If you're interested in technology, cyber crime, psychology or just want a detailed exploration of a new subject, I would most certainly recommend this.
