Ojos que no ven
Valió la pena escuchar este audiolibro. Es una novela dura, poética, muy bien escrita. Trata sobre una pandemia de ceguera y las medidas tomadas por el gobierno y los ciudadanos en torno a ella. De un momento a otro, la realidad a la que estamos acostumbrados desaparece detrás de una luz muy blanca y los valores civilizados son reemplazados por otros más primitivos, algunos violentos y crueles, otros nobles o tiernos... Queda en evidencia lo más básico del ser humano.
Me gustó la narración de Victor Velasco. Es muy sobria y cuenta con la solemnidad necesaria. Al principio me costó un poco, porque me pareció algo formal. Pero finalmente encontré su lectura adecuada para esta novela y terminó convenciéndome.
José Saramago ganó el Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1998, pocos años después de publicar este libro.
