Publisher's Summary

The human personality is a mystification that has eluded some of the greatest minds in all of history. Poets, philosophers, religious leaders, and laymen alike have all gone to great lengths to break down the human psyche, but no clear answer has come about yet. Most likely, the middle of the human personality will always retain some mystery, but with the proper tool in hand, almost anyone can begin to pry away the opaque clouds of wonder and get a glimpse into the truth about themselves.

One of the best tools out there for discovering who you really are is the Enneagram. If you have never heard of the Enneagram before, then it just may be the tool you have been missing. If you are ready to let the old and confused self go and begin the process of self-discovery, then learning about the Enneagram is an absolute must.

The Enneagram has roots that trace back to antiquity. Like so many other tools and concepts that stem from days long gone by, it is still being used today to help people learn things about themselves they never knew before. If you are having trouble finding your path in life or want to make a change but do not know where to begin, then the Enneagram may just be the item that steers you in the right direction.

Some of the information you will find in this audiobook includes:

  • A personality test that will give you a starting point to help discover who you really are.
  • A history of what the Enneagram is and how it came to be.
  • Several different correspondences to help you look at the Enneagram from multiple points of view.
  • Explanations of the dominant personality types as well as the wings.
  • Insight to the different levels of health that relate to the human personality.
  • Numerical values for the integration and disintegration points.
  • An explanation of why the diagram of the Enneagram looks the way it does and how to make your own.
  • Why you should make an honest effort to discover who you really are.
  • And more!

Life Changing

This book is the most complete guide for understanding the Enneagram. It's a must to have when studying the Enneagram. It's the type of book you should have in your nightstand to remind you of your psychological and spiritual growth observation. It's a book which I suggest you take your time to listen. It is very rich in knowledge and eye opening to a life changing experience.

My supervisor recommend this book to me

I am in graduate school for social work. My supervisor recommend this book to me, and I am so glad she did. I love it! I highly recommend to anyone interested in personality types and/or personal growth.

Impressive contribution

This book has some of the most practical psychology advice I've ever listen. I have many books on Jungian psych and after I bought this one there were only a couple others that could even come close. The sidebars are helpful and the writing is very effective overall. Not so packed with information that it's hard to listen, but dense enough (and thick enough) that you are getting an amazing deal by buying it.

An Insightful listen....

I am SO surprised at how much I like this book. My friend told me how much she has liked listening it and I thought I would order it to give it a try. Honestly, it is shocking how much you can learn about yourself through childhood messages/invisible factors. I was able to categorize myself perfectly and will always have this book on hand for self discovery.

This is the best book on the Enneagram

This is the best book out there on the Enneagram that I have come across. Not only are the descriptions of each type thorough and helpful, but there are some great suggestions and guides to get to a more healthy level. It details the instinctual variants, the subtypes, the wings, etc. If you want a complete and comprehensive book on the Enneagram, this is the one.

An Awakening!!!

This book was the first to help me realize my significance in this universe. I finally discovered my 'make up', personality type, where I got it and how I think! It was an Awakening for me! This is worth listening a hundred times! I am blessed to have listened it.

Fantastic book

I was familiar with the Enneagram prior to buying this book. But I've found that Ian Baron has done a fantastic job describing each type in detail and how each type can become more aware of their blindspots as well as live a fuller, richer life.

Want to know why you do what you do?

If you answer questions correctly, you will find out which of these 9 personality types you are. Ian explains how our types behave when we are healthy, and how we behave during stress. Keep a sense of humor! You have to be honest with yourself - but don't be insulted when you yourself through the Enneagram's descriptions!

Revealing

Tells me more about myself than therapy. I don't know how so much about me can be written in a book. Ian Baron is the best authors on the Enneagram.

Remarkable book

Remarkable accurate descriptions of my own personality and those of some family members. Listening this book teaches compassion for ourselves and others. Insightful. I don't know if the Enneagram covers ALL personalities - I found that some family members were almost iconic examples of some of the types, while others, I couldn't place them at all.

A solid book for basic research

Enneagram provides the best overall introduction to the Enneagram for many people. After 21 years of working with people about the Enneagram, this is one of the best books I recommend for a more in depth study of several aspects of the study. Ian Baron's works provide the best description of how each type functions at various "levels of health." For those starting out the book also has a quiz for each type. Highly recommended.

5 years of psychotherapy in a little book

This book is like twenty books on the Enneagram that has been distilled into one power packed book. I tell my clients to listen it mindfully, slowly and to remember to breath! I've been using this book alone in my psychotherapy practice for over ten years. It's depth and clarity in introducing people to the realm of personality passions and fixations is unparalleled.

Amazing

It's rearranged how I think about myself and my relationships with the people I'm close to. All I could think of as I listen the first 6 chapters about the structure of the the Enneagram is, "That's so true! I never thought of it that way before!" Higly recommended.

Wisdom...Truly

I almost never take the time to write reviews but felt it important to do so for this book. I have suffered greatly due to the destructive identity/personality issues arising from my early years. This book has been a profound resource. If you truly care about doing the very hard work of personal healing and understanding, this book is one of the best I've listen. An easy 5 stars.

Best personality book

Best personality tool PERIOD for truly understanding your path to good mental and spiritual health. This is the most comprehensive book for this tool, and after referencing my friends' copies for so long, I felt empty without a copy of my own. Great purchase

I have seen several books on enneagrams but this one is the best. It is well organized and presents the material in an easy to understand fashion. Application of the principles yields great insight into interractions with others.

It's a great book

This book is like having your personal psicologist 24/7 !!!!! Hard to believe how the most accurate details came to my mind about traumas I forgot or didnt remember because I was too young. I recomend this material 100% .
