Publisher's Summary

Painkillers and surgery are not your only options.

It’s a debilitating illness that affects approximately 200 million women of childbearing age worldwide.

Yet, for a disease so prevalent, endometriosis remains frequently underdiagnosed and untreated, not to mention misunderstood.

You may have had to consult with various doctors before finally getting the right diagnosis.

The unbearable pain you constantly experience, even outside your period, may have been dismissed by your bosses or co-workers as laziness or being over-dramatic.

Your friends may not be able to grasp why you’re canceling on them yet again, because your condition affects not only your body, but your emotions as well.

Because even doctors still don’t completely understand endometriosis, its treatment can vary in terms of effectiveness.

Often, treatment is focused on managing pain, only providing temporary relief and not actually addressing the underlying issues.

However, with a holistic approach, you can get to the bottom of what’s causing your symptoms and harness your own body to fight back.

Informative

My girlfriend suffers from all the symptoms mentioned in the book, so we learnt a lot. Nothing we didn't have an idea about before, eat healthy, exercise etc. but it did cover some parts that really help us solidify suspicion of what she has.

A must listen/

This book provides an objective perspective of exactly what happened. I don’t always agree with his perspective, but it leads me to believe that it was accurate and precise.

Great holistic info on Endo

As someone who believes in holistic approach to healing, I’m grateful for this book as it includes movement, nutrition and mindset in addition to the basics of Western medicine for Endo. Easy read with great resources.

Great to know I'm not alone

So many times during my chronic pain journey, my pain has been questioned, ignored, or caused a nuisance to those around me. It is both sad and comforting to know that others are going through something similar. Lara does a fantastic job at giving language to something that often takes our ability to speak away. She is angry, and rightfully so.

Wonderful and so needed

I’ve been following Lara’s career as a writer for many years. This book is an eye opening look into what it is to be chronically ill with vagina problems. Endometriosis awareness is so needed and I’m thrilled that she wrote this. Much love, Maddie

Great listen

I listen this audiobook many years ago and have copies to share today. It is well explaining and foundational to becoming grounded in reality and changing misperceptions of one's self.

Wow

A graphic, informative and personal story that is scarcely frightening but relatable for a fellow endometriosis sufferer.

Amazing book, wrong voice

I really enjoyed this book, I even think about getting the paper version to have all the nice recipes for smoothies and other nutrition tips.
It's very helpful and complete, I discovered a lot of concept and ideas. I'm very grateful

I didn't like the voice though. She get so high in some tones that I had to constantly adapt the volume in my earplugs as it was hurtful sometimes.
I'd rather have a more calm voice for this kind of healing book.

This appears to be a good resource for individuals who have Alzheimer's Disease run in their family or others looking for ways to possibly prevent the disease.

This has given me hope for life again!

Listening to Wendy's voice helps to make this more personal and I feel like she is by my side supporting me through. She speaks with a kind, soft and nurturing tone that is very easy and comforting to listen to. Hearing the pain that she suffered and the years that she was bed bound, and how she has healed herself through only natural means, has made me begin to believe there is hope again. I already feel more optimistic after almost 11 years in pain.

clear esplanation

I enjoyed the clear explanations and the hope offered by this book. If you are worried about getting dementia, this is probably the most practical book available at present.
