Publisher's Summary

There’s no such thing as a casual romance in this unforgettable Accidental Billionaires novel by New York Times best-selling author J. S. Scott.

After finishing a hard-won medical residency, Owen Sinclair now lives his dream as a family physician. The windfall that brought him newfound wealth has also made handsome Dr. Sinclair the town’s most eligible bachelor. But Owen’s eyes are on Layla, his onetime best friend, his clinic’s dedicated nurse practitioner, and the one woman in Citrus Beach who has no interest in either his body or his billions.

In high school, Owen and Layla were always there for each other. Layla could confess almost anything to him. But wanting more than friendship was a confession too far, and Layla’s teenage longing was crushed in a heartbeat.

Two buried hurts are now in need of mending, and Owen has a proposition - if Layla is game. It’s a matter of trust as they discover so much more about the past, each other, and themselves. It’s not too late. Maybe they can make up for lost time. A love this true is worth the wait.

Loved it!

Owen and Layla’s story is one of heartache and soul crunching dismay that comes out so beautifully, you’re smiling and laughing by the end. The story holds true for the strong alphas you’ve grown to love throughout the series, and I hope there will be more stories to come about Riley’s brothers as you grow to know more about Jax in this book. Definitely a book to savor!

Touching, Heartfelt Romance

This one took me by surprise. I love this author's stories and the way she writes, but there was just something about this book that drew me in even more than I expected. There was angst, a touching and dramatic backstory, and of course a developing romance. There was also surprising twists that I didn't see coming. And the best part is always the satisfaction from the HEA ending. Another great thing about her books us her choice in narrators. Elizabeth Powers is THE voice of Ms. Scott's wonderful world of intertwined characters from Maine to Colorado, to California and everywhere in between. When I listen to one of her audiobooks, I am delighted by the level of professional talent I know I'm going to get from Ms. Powers.

Farewell Citrus Beach...

10yrs ago Owen Sinclair left his hometown and best friend to attend medical school on the east coast. An unfounded accusation separated Owen and Layla for all these years. Now Owen is back and has taken over the medical practice where Layla works. Can this pair repair the relationship and become something more? The story briefly touches on child abuse and depression, not overwhelming just to bring awareness. Enjoyable series.

Keep 'em Coming!!!

loved this installment of The Accidental Billionaires. The narrator is consistently my favorite choice for bringing these stories to life. She's very on point. The storyline does sometimes lack creativity with the alpha-male personas being just a tad too much but its easily forgiven. I will continue to read and listen to this series... my guilty pleasure 🥰🥰🥰

JS Scott Did it Again

Loved the story. Absolutely love the reference to mental health without making it the focal point. Elizabeth Powers was an amazing narrator, as always.

enjoyable

I love this series. The Sinclair's and their partners, I just can't seem to get enough of. This book was Owen and Layla's story and I've got to say I enjoyed the 2nd chance friends to lovers trope. It made me laugh and cry and I was so cheering for their successful navigation of the relationship. I listened via audible and I enjoyed the narration - the only improvement would have been to have two narrators, one male and one female.
